Pours a nice looking dark void with dark brown edges with thin tan head and a bit of stain on the side of the drinking vessel. The aroma hits first with dark chocolate and then some malt roastiness before booze and oak fill in behind. The taste is dark chocolate, malt roastiness, booze, a bit of oak and solid bourbon. This is pretty darn smooth and tasty. daknole (3000), Scottsdale, Arizona, USA

Tons of bourbon hit you but not in a hot or overpowering way. It mixes with chocolate, toffee, oak, molasses, prunes and raisins to make your mouth water. And the flavor? Tastes like a decadent piece of chocolate with a bourbon/toffee sauce inside. Just amazing. sebletitje (1971), Tampa, Florida, USA

I can’t believe this has been sitting for two years. This had to be hotter than hell when it was new. Bourbon is all over it, without being too overpowering. The stout stands up to it very well and looks like a thick and delicious oil slick. With the bourbon is a chalky cocoa, oak, coffee and a lot of roast. A ton of bourbon but still very good. Shoreline is 2 for 2 on their Big Bourbon beers for me. (The other being Discombobulation) Excellent. tarheels86 (798), Washington DC, USA

Pours an opaque black with a thin, dark tan head. Nose is a bit of soy sauce, dark chocolate, espresso, some spicy bourbon, vanilla. Taste is a little boozy with big notes of bourbon along with molasses, espresso, and dark chocolate. 12% is extremely well hidden. Yummy! Pailhead (2602), Allen Park, Michigan, USA

Bottle: The aroma consists of roastiness, chocolate, smoke, vanilla, and light bourbon. It pours a dark brown, virtually black, with a small beige head that quickly fades to small ring around the edges of the glass. The flavor with lots of chocolate and caramel. The finish has moderate vanilla, maple syrup, bourbon, and faint roasted coffee. The alcohol is very well hidden. Full bodied with a soft, creamy, and slightly sticky mouthfeel. holdenn (1443), Chicago, Illinois, USA

Pours dark black with a beige ring of a head. Aged chocolate burnt malts and some soy in the nose. Chocolate malts with a touch of soy thats followed by bourbon. Despite some overbearing characteristics of soy, bourbon, alcohol and sweetness, they balance and blend somewhat. The alcohol dries it out the sweetness somewhat, but its not anything I’m loving on. pantanap (1363), Chicago, Illinois, USA
