On tap at the brewpub. Light amber, no head. Light grainy aroma with some noble hops. Grain and spicy hops very protruding in flavor but backed up by some pine bitterness. Thin but well carbonated. Ubiquitous english pale, I need it more assertive though.

Tap and served in pint glass (too cold at first): Slightly hazed golden hue with a small fading head and some lace. The aroma has notes of grapefruity citric esters, grassy and herbal hops, hint of caramel and butterscotch, and a dash of mineral water. The taste is rather straight forward to a moderate hop bittering and twangy citrus over biscuity malts. The finish is metallic and dry with a linger astringent note. The mouth feel is watery and does not do much for excitement. The ESB version was better...I will take a Queen Mum next time.

Draught sample at the brewpub, June 19 2007. Pale, fairly clear yellow-gold with no real head, exactly identical to the "Stella Blue"....lightly earthy aroma, faintly peaty, dryish malts....fairly dry, moderately bitter body, light in texture, with a grassy-herbal quality throughout, a bit mineralic, quite dry on the finish, average carbonation, dull.

This definitely is not the Don’t Panic! ESB, an amber colored ale already entered on the site. This is a clear yellow/gold ale with a fluffy head that laces the glass thoroughly. The aroma has toffee, caramel, a touch of butterscotch, and a light floral hopping. A bit thin, it’s more caramelly in the flavor and the floral bitterness kicks up a notch to meet the increased sweetness. It finishes on a quietly bitter note. Sessionable.
