This definitely is not the Don’t Panic! ESB, an amber colored ale already entered on the site. This is a clear yellow/gold ale with a fluffy head that laces the glass thoroughly. The aroma has toffee, caramel, a touch of butterscotch, and a light floral hopping. A bit thin, it’s more caramelly in the flavor and the floral bitterness kicks up a notch to meet the increased sweetness. It finishes on a quietly bitter note. Sessionable.

Draft at brewpub. Poured cloudy goldenr color with medium white fizzy head that mostly lasting with good lacing. Moderate citrus hoppy aroma. Medium body with a slick texture. Medium bitter flavor with a medium bittersweet finish of moderate duration. Soft drinkable brew.

Draught sample at the brewpub, June 19 2007. Pale, fairly clear yellow-gold with no real head, exactly identical to the "Stella Blue"....lightly earthy aroma, faintly peaty, dryish malts....fairly dry, moderately bitter body, light in texture, with a grassy-herbal quality throughout, a bit mineralic, quite dry on the finish, average carbonation, dull.

On tap at the brewpub. The body was slightly hazy medium gold with a white head. The aroma was oranges and peanuts with some bread crust. The taste was bitter orange peels with some strange grain hull character. A little bit of toast.

Tap and served in pint glass (too cold at first): Slightly hazed golden hue with a small fading head and some lace. The aroma has notes of grapefruity citric esters, grassy and herbal hops, hint of caramel and butterscotch, and a dash of mineral water. The taste is rather straight forward to a moderate hop bittering and twangy citrus over biscuity malts. The finish is metallic and dry with a linger astringent note. The mouth feel is watery and does not do much for excitement. The ESB version was better...I will take a Queen Mum next time.

Hazy golden pour. Nose of caramel malt and light herbal hopping. The flavors follow suit...light caramel/toffee upfront, followed by a light herbal/floral hopping. A touch watery. Just OK.

On tap at the brewpub
Poured clear golden yellow with a white head.
Biscuity malt aroma with earthy hops.
Same with the flavor. Toasted bread with some citrus and fruity esters.
Light body. Crisp dry finish.
Sessionable beer. I enjoyed it.

Tasted 4/27/08. Part 2 of the sampler. Hazy with a golden hue. Moldy white head. Crisp corny and grainy aromas. Tight effervescence. Crisp and off-dry. But not enough body. Meh...
