FlssmrBrewAlum (1053), Lisle, Illinois, USA Jun 26, 2009 Sampler poured draft at the brewpub (Michigan City, IN). Pours a more orange amber pour, hazy, decent offwhite head that dies to a small layer, laces well. Aromas are gpod grapefruit and tropical fruit hop, light caramel malts. Very nice. Initial is a bit bubbly, light maltiness and decent fruity hops, citrus and tropical fruit, a good bitterness, a bit soapy on the backend. Fresh, smooth, very quaffable. This is a very good IPA, a little lighter on the palate but that is a good thing. pantanap (1322), Chicago, Illinois, USA May 15, 2009 tap at brewpub... pours yellow brown with a hefty white head...floral and citrus hop aroma, pretty assertive... light yet more than adequate citrus hop component with a smooth creamy mouthfeel. Tmoney99 (4652), Cincinnati, Ohio, USA May 9, 2009 Draft at Shoreline.
Poured a clear copper color with an average frothy white head that was mostly lasting and had good lacing. Medium complex citrus hop aroma. Medium body with slick texture and soft carbonation. Moderate bitter flavor with a medium bitter finish of moderate duration.
My expectations where met with a good brew. kseecs16 (865), Naperville, Illinois, USA May 4, 2009 Draught at the pub. Orange hued amber with a creamy off-white head that leaves copious lacing on the glass. Aroma is piney hops, fruity notes, and a mild astringency. Flavor has a yeasty malt character to the body and a moderate hoppy finish.
Medium bodied, lingering bitterness is moderate and piney.
xnoxhatex (1305), Grand Rapids/Chicago, Michigan, USA Apr 30, 2009 On tap at shoreline. Slightly hazy dark amber with small beige head. Aroma is light citrus and pine hops with dry caramel, not too much going on but very pleasant. Big citrus and hop bitterness up front with resiny pine, medium dry caramel and some biscuit to follow it up. Medium with creamy yet highly carbonated body. Very tasty, fresh and sessionable, this exactly what you need from a brewpub. BBB63 (4198), La Porte, Indiana, USA Apr 11, 2009 On tap at brewery: Deep coppery hue with a small head but good lace. Very nice nose of citric and resiny tones, some pepper and clove, caramel and bready malts, and a touch of mint that I liked. The taste has catty and resiny hop bitterness with some citric twang supported by hop spice peppery notes. Earthy and bready midsection but they are still second fiddle here, the most approachable hop forward beer Shoreline has made. The mouth feel is oily and smooth, medium-bodied, a tad sharp around the edges, finish is a tad astringent and dry. I like this better than the Sum Nug for sure, a solid brew Sam. railcat1 (578), Orlando, Florida, USA Mar 4, 2009 This poured a nice mellow yellow with a fluffy white head and a bitter finish in the end overall not bad just a little different then the sum-nug.Cheers! tjthresh (1746), Greenfield, Indiana, USA Feb 26, 2009 Pours hazy yellow-orange. White head. Rings of lace all the way down. Moderate grassy nose with a bit of Juicy Fruit in the end. Fresh grassy hop flavor with with the slightest bit of buttered toast and an onion finish. Medium body and easy to drink. Long bitter finish. Serviceable.
