Draft at Shoreline. Poured a small tan head that quickly dissipated, sparse lacing, transparent, and an orange brown hue. Malty, caramel and hoppy aroma. Taste was hoppy, slight bitterness to start with and I detected an astringent aftertaste which was not too pleasing. Hoppy mouthfeel. Light-medium body.

I don’t really consider this a "red" ale. Mayhap it could be an ale, but it doesn’t show the "red" characteristics. Pretty hoppy for a red beer. More aggressive than I’m used to in a red beer. I like it though. If they don’t have the Pinhook Pilsner, I drink this.

On tap. Very muddy light brown with a soap bubble head. Higher than expected hop aroma with a slight touch of sweet malt character in the nose. Maybe some yeastiness. Way too bitter, and no real malt character. Thin, astrigant, and puckering. I’m not sure what they were going for here, but this is not an Irish Red.

On Tap: Very cloudy burgundy hue with small frothy head and excellent lace. The aroma has notes of toasted and caramel malt, grassy hops, earthy yeast esters, and a bit of veggie. The taste starts surprisingly bitter more akni to an APA than a malty ale. A bit of citric twang and papery finish. The feel is lively with a astrengent aftertaste. Overall not bad but not what I expected.
