Thought it was an amber. Not bad. It pours a deep reddish amber body with a firm beige head. Plenty of intricate lacework here. It’s got a malty, fruity (mainly sweet apples) aroma with a hit of PNW hops to spice it up. The hop flavors - grapefruit, zest of lemon, a touch of pine - build up as you drink leading to a moderately bitter, dry finish. Pretty decent.

Poured hazy brown color with an average frothy off-white head that mostly lasted with fair lacing. Moderate sour citrus hoppy aroma. Medium body with slick texture. Medium bittersweet flavor with a medium bittersweet finish of moderate duration. My expectations where met. heemer77 (4312), Savannah, Missouri, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | May 6, 2008 On tap at the brewpub. The body was dark rusty orange with a light khaki head. The aroma was bready with some caramel and cherries. The taste was iced tea and toffee. A nice roasted coffee finish mixed with a little grapefruit. This reminded me of grapefruit. Very good. | 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Nov 5, 2005 On Tap: Very cloudy burgundy hue with small frothy head and excellent lace. The aroma has notes of toasted and caramel malt, grassy hops, earthy yeast esters, and a bit of veggie. The taste starts surprisingly bitter more akni to an APA than a malty ale. A bit of citric twang and papery finish. The feel is lively with a astrengent aftertaste. Overall not bad but not what I expected. thedm (3837), Fort Wayne, Indiana, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Sep 19, 2006 This draft brew from the brewery poured a small sized head of foamy finely sized light brown colored bubbles that was long lasting and left behind a semi-opaque softly carbonated and a very good lacing. The weak aroma was Irish Red malty. The mouth feel was smooth at the start and mediumly tingly at the finish. The weak flavor contained notes of Irish Red malt. hotstuff (3183), Indiana, USA
| 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Jun 21, 2006 Draft at Shoreline. Poured a small tan head that quickly dissipated, sparse lacing, transparent, and an orange brown hue. Malty, caramel and hoppy aroma. Taste was hoppy, slight bitterness to start with and I detected an astringent aftertaste which was not too pleasing. Hoppy mouthfeel. Light-medium body. RAYBOY01 (1870), Chicago, Illinois, USA

| 2.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 2/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 9/20 | Nov 26, 2005 On tap. Very muddy light brown with a soap bubble head. Higher than expected hop aroma with a slight touch of sweet malt character in the nose. Maybe some yeastiness. Way too bitter, and no real malt character. Thin, astrigant, and puckering. I’m not sure what they were going for here, but this is not an Irish Red.
