hotstuff (3175), Indiana, USA Oct 19, 2009 On tap at Shoreline Brewery. Small white head with poor retention, transparent yellow body, very little carbonation observed, and excellent lacing. The aroma was hoppy, citrus and a hint of pine. The flavor was Amarillo hops, bitter, grapefruit, some maltiness, crisp and refreshing. The mouthfeel was slightly tingly and this beer is medium bodied. A little too hoppy tastying for the style, but tasty nonetheless. thedm (3833), Fort Wayne, Indiana, USA Sep 20, 2009 This draft brew from the brewery poured a head of bubbles that were and left behind a and a poor lacing. The weak aroma was dough. The mouth feel was tingly at the start and at the finish with a acidic aftertaste. The flavor contained notes of malt and mild hops. An OK brew just nothing special. xnoxhatex (1305), Grand Rapids/Chicago, Michigan, USA Aug 26, 2009 On tap at the brewpub. Clear light amber with small white head. Aroma is nice and hoppy with dry citrus. Flavor is fresh citrus hop, dry caramel, very sessionable. Medium body and light carbonation. Sessionable. FlssmrBrewAlum (1079), Lisle, Illinois, USA Jun 26, 2009 Sampler poured draft at the brewpub (Michigan City, IN). Pours a nice darker golden hue, slight haze, with bright white moderate head that sticks around and laces. Aromas are nearly non existent, light citrus but no real malt distinguished. Initial is more lively, citrusy lemon and grassy hops greet florals and wheat malt delicateness which doesn’t quite stand up. Citrus stays on the palate, and flowers and bitterness in the finish. Nice flavors but lacks balance. A bit doughy on the backend but by then it is too late. Cheers. RAYBOY01 (1813), Chicago, Illinois, USA Oct 27, 2008 Light golden pour and fluffy white head that releases a hint of grassiness and citrusy hop notes. The flavor is biscuit-like malt sweetness. grassy wheat notes, and PNW citrusy hops. Very decent representation of style. jezmez68 (332), Chesterton, Indiana, USA Oct 24, 2008 If you’re going to drink a wheat ale, it might as well be a bit hoppier than your average American wheat, and this beer does just that. On tap at Shoreline. A nice balance of malt and hops. The title says it all: This is a great session ale. BBB63 (4199), La Porte, Indiana, USA Sep 6, 2007 Tap: A clean golden hue with a fading fizzy head and no lace. The aroma was a combination of citric and herbal hops, biscuit and wheat, and just a dash of pine. The taste was at least a touch more interesting that your standard paint-by-number American Wheat due to the hop bitterness and citric (lemon and grapefruit) character. The background of pale malt and wheat provided a solid foil to the hops. The mouth feel is watery as expected but there is a surprising amount of carbonation. A refreshing summer beer but not something I would drink much of. muzzlehatch (4427), Burlington, Vermont, USA Jul 6, 2007 Draught sample at the brewpub, June 19 2007. Pale, fairly clear yellow-gold with no real head; just a bit darker than the blueberry beer, with some lacing this time....faint, tart, grainy-bready aroma, a bit of dry honey....nice tart body, lots of malt character, sour-dough texture throughout, a touch of cranberry, long finish that grows more sour, solid somewhat high carbonation level.
