Some light lacing was left around the glass. The aroma of the beer consisted of orange and grapefruit with some underlying caramel notes. The flavor was full of hoppy citrus, and finished off with sweet toffee and caramel notes. The mouthfeel was medium to full-bodied with light carbonation. A nice beer from Shoreline. Strong bitterness that smooths with notes of citrus, spice, pine, and sweet malts. Flat pour, and some cardboard, and earth aromas. Bartender @ the Shoreline told me the history of the brewpub, and makes me believe this 2XIPA will only improve. I will try it again the next time I’m back in Michigan City for a re-rate. kp (8500), Woodstock, Georgia, USA

cloudy orange, frothy off white head,
sweet pine and citrus aroma with lots of earthy balance,
lots of sweet pine and tangerine flavor, light bitterness adds balance but stays out of the way of the hop flavor, nice crystal sweetness adds to the complexity,

And it’s a dandy for this hop-head. Pouring a hazy dark amber and sporting a slender ecru head, this has a sturdy aroma of pine, grapefruit, and zest over a malty sweetness. The caramel backbone provides just enough strength to support the strong hoppy bitterness that lasts long, long into the finish. Very nice.

Everything about the brew was great, except for a funkiness in the nose. Hints of rotting meat is how I would describe it. I couldn’t get past it. Perhaps it was an off day for me. Will try again. tjthresh (1779), Greenfield, Indiana, USA

This beer will get a lot of folks in trouble. railcat1 (582), Orlando, Florida, USA
