Aroma is hops, fruits, yeast and some caramel. Flavour is toffee, fruity hops and some mild alcoholic sweetness. Aftertaste is rather peachy along with some alcohol and wood. Dryish aroma of honey, dry (sunflower) seeds and grainy malt. Mead-like, sweet and somewhat alcoholic honey in the flavor, with grainy malt and floweriness. Medium to full body with soft, lowish carbonation. Some points for originality, but not necessarily for the flavor. Reminds me of Polish meads. alexsdad06 (1081), Ohio, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Mar 14, 2009 Sample from 750 ml bottle. Pours a hazy dark golden color with a medium white head. The aroma is spot on the description- nutty, sunflower seeds, and sweetness coming from the honey. the flavor is similar to the nose - spicy, nutty, honey sweetness, and enough malt for it to come together nicely, with a hint of the 9.6% coming through as it warms. Medium bodied with average carbonation. This is still pretty good after 2 years.
