Had this brew at G.A.B.F. 08". Aroma is a nice hoppy scent. Color is a hazy brown with mellow carbonation and a nice head. Starting with a full medium body it goes down with a smooth feel. Finish comes in with a somewhat sweet malt flavor that has a nice caramel taste then a good hop flavor and even bitterness. This is a very hoppy but well balanced IPA.

GABF 2008. Mostly hazy, somewhat greenish tinged breadcrust color with a thin layer of wispy white head. Aromas of pine, grapefruit zest, and some catty uric hop notes. Dank and herbal, with a planty bitterness lingering behind a caramel malt stickiness. Medium bodied, moderately carbonated mouthfeel with a bold, resiny bitterness. Caramel malt sweetness up front, followed by a planty, pithy bitterness. Hops are somewhat obscured by the residual sweetness, leaving a bitter, earthy spiciness behind rather than a crisp, citrus freshness. A bit oniony and catty, but pleasantly chewy and resinous.

(Draught) Pours a hazy amber body with small off-white head. Aroma of pine, floral, caramel, and herbs. Flavor of hops (citrus, pine, earthiness) with toasted and caramel malts to provide balance.

GTMW! Orange pour with a small white head. Juicy hop aroma. Flavor was strong citrus and grapefruit hops. Some caramel malt filled in the blank area. Very bitter finish, nice!

on tap at GTMW ’08. pours hazy gold white head. caramel, minty, estery aroma, not that hoppy. peppery, minty, estery, fresh citrus and grapefruit hop notes. pretty dry too. alcohol noticed but it is so dry that this works. highly drinkable.

gtmw 08....semi-clear dark orange brown pour. medium off-white head... abundance of piney citrus hops in the nose. pretty nice.... really hoppy flavors and a very dry finish. bitter citrus hops that last long through the finish. very nice.

GTMW ’08. Poured a hazy copper/medium orange color. The head was light tan with a yellowish tint. The aroma was a nice balance of malty caramel and flowery hops. Medium bodied with moderate to high hop bitterness (7 out of 10) that lingered and lingered. Nice flavor profile including the likes of sprucy/citrusy hops, caramel, and toasted bread. I also picked up a hint of bacon mixed in there somewhere. Tasty.

Great Taste 2008. Short’s really put on a show -- they surprised me at the festival. Pours a nice mahogany color and leads into grapefruit, hay, and a nice chewiness of a good IIPA. Probably the best IIPA I had of the day, which is saying a lot. Nice work, Shorts!
