I like bourbon, I like hops, and I like this. bgburdman9 (822), Columbus, Ohio, USA Jun 15, 2009 Another old rating. I really liked these bourbon IIPA’s. Aroma was very big bourbon and some light hops. I actually liked this one a littl more than the grapefruit one. THere is still some hops even after 9 months in a barrel. Headbanger (1574), Aurora, Illinois, USA May 22, 2009 12oz bottle 4/1/09 (Purchased Shorts)-Pours a hazy dark golden with a small white covering for a head. Aroma of hops, malt, citrus, and grapefruit. Flavor was the same with some alcohol and bourbon thrown in. This medium bodied brew was not bad but a bit overpowering. Not much bourbon as I was hoping. Still tasty. WeeHeavySD (2940), San Diego (Hillcrest), California, USA Jan 2, 2009 12oz via trade with Alexsdad. I felt like a beer and this was cold and hell I wanted to open it, so there ya go. Pours deep murky orange with a tan ring. Nose is oaky with wood and resin, and pine. Taste is bourbony and hoppy and big really an aggressive beer with a lot more complexity than I’d expect.
