Hoppy finish. Tør og bitter. sunevdj (1469), Copenhagen OE, Denmark Oct 1, 2008 Shorts tasting with The Club +a few. Pours a slightly hazy amber. Pours a light brown with an off-white head. Smells a bit of sour hops. Sweet and malty with aromas of caramel and more sour hops (fuggles?). Hints of nuts. Medium body. Medium to high carbonation. Dry finish with some sourness. Theis (2208), Frederiksberg, Denmark Sep 30, 2008 Bottle at home. Clear dark brown - offwhite head. High malty, sweetness, light bitterness, wierd hoppy, chocolate, spicy, nutty, woody, earthy. Not that well balanced. awaisanen (1157), Irvine, California, USA Sep 27, 2008 From a 750mL Bottle. Mostly hazy, ruddy amber colored pour with a creamy layer of thin ivory head. Aged grassy hop nose with some cardboard oxidation notes. Caramel malt aromas with some spicy, varnishy alcohols present. Medium bodied, softly carbonated mouthfeel. Plenty of hop bitterness, but the hop flavors taste aged and planty with edges of onion. Lots of caramel malt, with an earthy, spicy hop bite on the back end. Slight oxidation makes the palate a bit thin. Perhaps once tasty fresh, this one clearly tastes past its prime. Even still, it’s hard to imagine this one upstaging any of the other Imperial series Short’s offerings in the primest of forms. Thanks, Ryan!
