Thanks to GOT for the taste. Hazy reddish brown pour. Big citrus hop and pine aroma with a touch of caramel. Taste is nice smooth malt, toffee, pine and citrusy hops. Very tasty.

Courtesy of GoT and northernbrews. 750mL. Red body with some wispy head settled over the top. Citrus hops and tons of caramel, a fair bit of acidity on the nose. Caramel malts fight with some sharp hop acidity, a touch of soapiness in the hops. Sweet on the front and middle of the sip then finishes bitter. Nice medium carb.

Courtesy GoT via northernbrews. Pours a dark, reddish crimson color with a small, foamy, cream colored head. Sticky, patchy rings of lacing circle the glass. The nose is massively hoppy, even at this age, with big pine resin and grapefruit bitterness countering the underlying caramel and earthy fruit malts. There’s some spicy yeast notes in there, as well as a hint of nuttiness. Flavors follow suit, bitter and resinous but sufficiently balanced by toasty sweet caramel and dark fruit. The body is lightly syrupy, but smooth and well carbonated. Finishes with pine and lingering toast. Good brew.

Thanks to Northernbrews for the hookup. Jeff, you’re the man. Pours a clean reddish bronze. Aroma is caramel sweetness and pine. Flavors follow, with a good amount of sweetness with a bitter punch. Finish lingers for a while. Pretty good.

750ml bottle acquired in trade with hoppymea (thanks Derek!). Bottled on 2/6/07 and # 117 of 780. Poured a medium amberish color with a larger sized off white head. Aromas of caramel, some dark fruits, a little earthy, and citrus. Tastes of caramel, dark fruits, toffee, and some citrus. On the sweeter side. Creamy body.

750 ml bottle. Pours a deep reddish amber color with a medium off white head. The aroma has a big malt presence, caramel, citrus hops, fruits, and a touch of pine. The flavor is a battle between the big caramel malts and the citrus and pine hops fighting to see which one will dominate. The fruitiness in the nose is not transferred to the flavor. I think all of the Shorts beers are at least interesting enough to try once. This one would be good again except for the obvious reasons.

Bottle 75cl. @ [ Shorts Tasting ].
Clear medium amber orange red color with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly diminishing, off-white head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, caramel, fruity, grapefruit, orange, wood, medicine notes. Flavor is light heavy sweet, light light acidic and moderate bitter with a long duration. Body is medium, texture is oily to watery, carbonation is soft. [20081108]

Bottle, sampled thanks to WeeHeavySD. Pours a clear dark reddish-amber, with an off-white head. Sharp aroma, of malt, citrus, pine, grass, and hops. Taste is sharp, with hops, malt, citrus, and pine. Lingering sharpness. Tasty.
