| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Sep 27, 2008 From a 750mL Bottle. Mostly hazy, ruddy amber colored pour with a creamy layer of thin ivory head. Aged grassy hop nose with some cardboard oxidation notes. Caramel malt aromas with some spicy, varnishy alcohols present. Medium bodied, softly carbonated mouthfeel. Plenty of hop bitterness, but the hop flavors taste aged and planty with edges of onion. Lots of caramel malt, with an earthy, spicy hop bite on the back end. Slight oxidation makes the palate a bit thin. Perhaps once tasty fresh, this one clearly tastes past its prime. Even still, it’s hard to imagine this one upstaging any of the other Imperial series Short’s offerings in the primest of forms. Thanks, Ryan! ChristianScheffel (4632), Odense, Denmark

Aroma has citrus hops, a little spice (pepper?), some fruitiness, and a nettle-like herbal note. The flavour has all the right stuff - fruitiness, hops, malt in great balance between sweetness and bitterness. Traditional, but well designed. Lingering bready malt finish. thewolf (5805), Kolding, Denmark

Pours a great, deep, red amber with a small, staying, creamy white head. Aroma is powerful hoppiness, light strawberries and grapefruit. Pleasant creamy and dry mouthfeel. Flavour has some pepper, very dry, good caramel and a slight metallic hint. Grovlam (3810), Copenhagen, Denmark
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Sep 1, 2008 Bottle. [Drikkeriget Grand Shorts Imperial Series tasting, thanks to Jeppe for another great session] Average beige creamy head that mostly lasted. Fair display of lacework. Cloudy amber color. Aroma was quite hoppy with notes of grapefruit, citrus, mild fruit. Over the palate came mild peach and pineapple, spice, and again mild floral hoppy notes and some underlying caramel. Medium bodied with a soft carbonation and dry texture. Moderated bitter and sweet flavor in balance. Dry bitter hoppy finish.
