Commercial Description:
The hub of the village
Exactly what it says, “brown beer.” This is beer fermented from wort extracted from the hearty pale ale malt, toasted specialties, chocolate and munich selections resulting in a toasted brown color. Very light hop additions from the Cascade variety allows the sweet malty and caramel notes to shine through for duration of its time on your palette.

Bottle 35,5 cl. Courtesy of TheCheeseMan. Pours a deep amber with a beige head. Roasted malts in the nose with a lingering tartness. Medium body, roasted malt, nuts and a little burned caramel. Again there’s a lingering tartness lurking underneath indicating that a slight tartness may be at work. Roasted, malty finish. 221109

Tasted at a The LoSBD meeting, thanks to RAYBOY01: This poured a chestnut body with a short-lived white head. It had a rich caramelly, malty aroma with a touch of milk chocolate. The flavor was much the same and had the addition of a light nutty bitterness. Quaffable.

Bottle sample at Noogfest High 5. Poured a clear brown color with an average frothy off-white head that mostly lasted with good lacing. Moderate toasted malt, nut and smal hop aroma. Medium body with a smooth texture and soft carbonation. Medium sweet toasted flavor with a medium sweet finish of moderate duration. Average complex brew.

On tap at the brewpub. The body was dark brown with some ruby. A light khaki head. The aroma is strongly malty with some tobacco and chocolate. The body was medium with some toffee and black tea. Nearly perfect for the style.

This draft brew from the brewery poured a medium sized head of off-white colored finely sized mostly lasting bubbles that left behind a fair lacing. The body was a nice transparent brown color. The aroma contained notes of mild but nice brown malts. I wished there were more brown malts as I sampled this brew and that the aroma was stronger. The mouth feel was smooth with a mild tingle that mellowed in the finish. The flavor lacked punch was was on the weak side, but what flavor there was was good. Once again, I just wished it was stronger. The mild brown malt flavor was mixed with delicate hops and was slightly flat.
