Tasting at Papsoe
Hazy amber color. It really smells like Bloody Mary: tomato, spices and light celery; I forget that it’s supposed to be beer, the aroma is nice. Some caramel flavor, medium-low sweetness, quite strong hopping, with a good pepper presence. I’m usually against these mixes, but I have to admit that this one is an interesting experience. If it was not so bitter at the end it would be better.

Bottled. Amber coloured. Murky. LIght beige head. Sweetness, fruits and light spice in the aroma. Flavour has a distinct tomato taste, loads of fruits and spice. A bit herbal. Medium bodied. Fruity and acidic end. Very funny beer.

75 cL bottle. Pours hazy orange with a diminished white head. Aroma is spiced and of tomato. Yet on the more spiced note. Light metallic and tomato like flavoured with a mild spiced note. Smooth tomato and slight spiced finish. Not bad and quite different.

750mL Bottle. Heavy dill and peppercorn aroma. Savory, like no other beer. Fragrant and flowery, edging towards pickles. Pours a hazed ochre orange-red, with a soapy fringe in off-white. Wow. Peppercorns, tomato, and dill amalgamate in the mouth for a really classic bloody mary presentation. Light hops come in the back. There’s an awful lot of dill in there. The bloody mary flavors meld well with malt and hops, but the spices get a little out of control. Good body, nice balance and good flavors, but it gets a little weird. Novel idea that came across pretty well, but doesn’t make the most consistently drinkable beer as the bloody mary flavors get a little old.

Bottled. A hazy orange-amber beer with an off-white head. The aroma is sweet malty with notes of caramel, dill, and other spices as well as blood. The flavor is spicy combined with notes of dill, cellery, and tomato.

(Bottle 75 cl) Hazy deep golden with a rough, off-white head. Rather enticing celery aroma - although I actually hate celery.... Medium-bodied, spicy, peppery with celery accents and a discreet whiff of tomato. Dry and bitter finish. Very unusual but still quite drinkable. 311008
