Bottle… O’sS&BS-I-T-YVBThrowdown… Pours very dark and burnt orange with a small, creamy, off-white head. The aroma is a monster blend of heavy, acidic sourmash, moderate dark chocolate and a touch of vanilla. Medium-bodied with a watery mouthfeel and tingly carbonation. Chocolaty, bourbony and a touch acrid. Lengthy, mildly sweet, sourmash and chocolate finish. Thanks to GoT for sharing the bottle!

Thanks to northernbrews for sharing this. Pours out near black with just a hint of light coming through the edges of the glass and a dense white had with great lacing. The aroma is mostly bourbon with some mildly roasted malt and bread. The flavor is the same with a hint of sweet vanilla and a fair amount of alcohol. The body is medium-thin and aqueous with soft carbonation. Good brew but only ’cause I like bourbon beers, but otherwise the balance is pretty off. I don’t think the base beer just has enough flavor or body to handle the bourbon.

Thanks to northernbrews for sharing this. Pours a dark brown with thin dark tan head that dissipates quickly, very little lacing. Aroma strong of alcohol and bourbon, chocolate, and caramel. Flavor matches well, but wasn’t quite as hot as aroma would have suggested. Had a slight acidic nature and a lot of chocolate and vanilla. Overall very nice brew.

Shared at Kuhnhenn Summer Solstice. Poured into a snifter, dark brown with beige head. Aroma of bourbon, chocolate, and hot booze, hotter than the abv would indicate. Taste of chocolate, coffee, bourbon. A bit thin on the mouthfeel. OK.

12-oz. Thanks, BVC! Pours dark amber with a lacy off-white head. Light body and carbonation. Bourbon-laden caramel nose. Coffee and chocolate taste with with a soft bourbon finish. I don’t get much of the barrel, mostly the bourbon.

Old rating. Aroma was of a lot of bourbon and chocolate. Has a little tartness to this and some sour. Not bad at all but not what was expected.

Bottle shared by JCB, our local Shorts hookup. Funky yeast and lost of malt and bourbon/oak. Vanilla, a bit of smoke. Quite good.

A lovely schwartzbier. Pours black, white head, with mollasses and pleasant bourbon aroma. Above average mouthfeel, a little grain substance. Very drinkable.
