Bottle shared by bvc. The aroma is that of dark malt sweetness with some softer secondary bourbon barrel notes. Dark brown pour with auburn hues and a thin tan head. Soft dark malt sweetness is followed by light roasted malts and a good dose of bourbon barrel. Woody notes in the finish create a dryness. Rather light feel on the palate all things considered. Really enjoyable.

Big ol thanks to JCB for sharing this. The pour was dark brown that allowed some light. The head was creamy and light tan. The nose was very interesting, fruity and twangy, tart, oaky, sweet, vanillins, reminds me of a de dolle yeast. The flavor is tart and fruity, tastes yeasty, vinous tannic feel from the barrel, oaky. Very interesting Schwarzbier.

Draft @ Shorts. Pours dark brown with reddish highlights and a small tan head. The aroma was dark roasted malt, char, ripe dark fruit, and a hint of smoke. The flavor was roasted malt, char, fruits that lend a slight tart quality, oak , with a dry bitterness to the finish. The bourbon barrel adds a touch of sweetness. Medium bodied with moderate carbonation. Solid.

Bottle at Tronraner’s Xmas Eve^3 tasting. Dark brown pour with amber highlights and wispy light tan head. I definitely think this had some infectin to it. Very highly carbonated body. It was pretty decent even with the tart acidic notes though.

Courtesy Beerlando. Black color, thin sparse light tan head. Mild sourness funky roast, some barrel character but very light. Taste has a mild acidity with a light roast, nice sourness on the back end. Pretty nice.

Bottle courtesy of Styles. Bourbon wet wood aroma along with sweet carbinated hardd to explain it. Black body with tan foamy head and good lacing. Mainly a sweet carbinated beer. Bourbon is bresent along with some sour tart. Odd brew but last brew for 2008. Thanks Chris.

This poured brown in color with a moderate light beige head of large bubbles that fades away. The nose is not very expressive but has aromas of mineral, dark chocolate and a tart bourbon-like aroma. In the mouth this is a lighter style with lots of carbonation. The palate shows a lot of bourbon flavor along with sweet and sour sauce, chocolate and wood. This is a bit strange but well-balanced.
