Shorts The Good Feller Imperial IPA

25.6 oz bottle, a few years old by now but i love me some Short’s. Murky brown with a spongy bone head. Nose is caramel, grilled orange and mild pine. Smooth medium body with buzzy carb, residual resin. Taste is orange peel, butterscotch, peach and grass. Doughy finish with some stale hops. Still good.

courtesy of the Shorts tasting night group. early ’07 bottle. bottle#599 pours orange cloudy with white head. Aroma is just straight DIPA with hints of caramel malts. Even after 2+ years this one still retained a strong hop profile. Flavor, caramel malts with a good hop balance, good carbonation with a light yeasty finish.

Pour is copper with a small wispy head. Aroma is of sweet fruit, pine and nutty. Flavor is slightly bitter and has good malt balance without being too sweet. Good mouthfeel and a really good beer. I bet this was great fresh.

750ml bottle 551/798 7/14/09 (Shorts Brewery)- Pours a Pours a medium to dark amber with a small tight off white head. Aroma of citrus. hops. and malt. Taste of hops and then malt. This medium to full bodied brew is very well balanced and delicious. Another great brew from Shorts.

A bottle 0.75L tasted at Pikkulintu 23.6.2009. Mild nose. Dark coppery colour. Pale beige head. Soft taste with some hints of bluecheese. Alcohol in the nose. Average hoppiness at end.

750ml bottle Amber/ copper color. Aroma of citrus hop. Flavor is a nice bold malt character. Followed by a sharp hop bitterness. Big hop and a lingering bitterness. Be aware! Not for the faint of palate. HIGH IBUs! 03 may 08.

(Bottle, 0.75 l, at Pikkulintu, Helsinki, on 2009-06-10) Ruby red and almost clear. Small white head. Malts, sweetness, alcohol and hops in aroma. Full bodied, warming alcohol and dry palate with medium carbonation. Malts, hops, light sweetness, alcohol and bitterness in taste. Malts and bitterness in aftertaste.

Amber, reddish colour with an off white head. Hoppy, piney and light fruity aroma with a malty sweet note. Hoppy, piney and light caramel sweet flavor.
