| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | May 19, 2009 12oz bottle dated March 09. Hops on the nose lean to the earthy side. Tree bark, freshly cut grass, some cedar. Slightly herbal as well. Pine resin and citrus zest are there, but only in the background. Maybe a bit of crystal malt. Pours a slightly hazed copper with a frothy off-white head. Slight spotty lacking down the glass with fairly good head retention. Bright, clean hop profile on the tongue. Woodsy, slightly spicy, grassy with just enough citrus. A bit floral. Just enough malt to keep the hops from becoming too brash and overstated. Medium bodied. Mild carbonation. Creamy entry but the hops get a bit too aggressive ad the mouth feel becomes a tad chalky by the finish. All in all, a decent and highly drinkable IPA. sigma23 (235), , Maine, USA

Bottle poured into a snifter produced a finger worth o f white head that went to a thin lace that follows the body down the glass. The body is a wonderful is a clear peach in color.
Yes the hop aromas are incredible on this brew, Big piney, citric, and floral. The hop flavor is the same but with enough sweetness from the malts to keep it drinkable. It is to the hop side of being balanced. The feel in my mouth is exactly what I want in an IPA and the carbonation is crisp as well.
Easy enough to drink I could handle a few of these in a sitting. A good IPA all in all

Great earthy aroma. Flavor of grass and lots of hopps. Background flavors of citrus and pine, but overall a hopfest. Very crisp. Nice mouthfeel. Another great Michigan IPA. Highly recommended. lb4lb (2011), Austin, Texas, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | May 15, 2009 Pours a hazy yellowish orange with a lasting, creamy white head. Smell is quite fresh with earthy, dusty, and slightly citrusy hops. Taste is hoppy with an earthy and dry citrus rind and resin flavor and a nice enough malt backing, but the hops are definitely at the forefrunt. Lingering light pineyness Creamy body and soft carbonation. I would prefer a slight bit crisper carbonation in an IPA, but it’s not bad. Pretty solid IPA. riversideAK (2745), Shoreline, Washington, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | May 7, 2009 Sent as an extra from dfschmeke. Thanks! This was a tasty IPA. The nose had lots of citrus and floral hops with a touch of sweetness hidden under the great hoppy nose. Pours hazy golden orange with a thin head and some good lace. The flavor is initially nice and citrusy, pretty fruity, some underlying sweet malty notes, and a long dry bitter finish. Lots of mouth coating resins. Good stuff! kseecs16 (907), Naperville, Illinois, USA

| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | May 4, 2009 Draft. Pours a hazy light amber color with a medium sized off white head. The aroma was a burst of fresh citrusy hops, grapefruit, pine, and some sweet malt. The flavor is more fresh citrus hops, grapefruit, moderately sweet malt, herbal, pine, heavy dry bitter finish. The bitterness lingers for a while. Medium bodied, rough at the start, but very enjoyable.
