| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 17/20 | Mar 24, 2009 Orange-copper pour with a small white head that fades to a nice ring of lace. Very fresh citrus and pine aroma. There’s lots of grapefruit and orange zest notes in there. The smell also has a sweet biscuit, caramel, and honey malt backbone. The flavor leads much more to the floral and pine end of the hop spectrum with a few hints of citrus lingering at the end. The malt component of the flavor is earthy, toasty, caramel. The body is medium with a nice amount of carbonation that refreshes and leaves you ready for another sip right away. I would like just a bit more body though. Really an excellent IPA that borders on DIPA with the amount of hops in it. 2jayjay2 (6), Roseville, Michigan, USA does not count | 4.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 5/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Mar 23, 2009 Having had this on tap many times I was skeptical about trying it in the bottle. But I was not disappointed. The beautiful orangish red color and the strong aromatic smell of hops invites one to caress the true example of an ipa. The lingering bitterness of the hops beckons for another taste of this wonderful IPA. MrBunn (1555), Western, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Mar 22, 2009 Bottle courtesy of coyotehunter. Pours a orangish gold with a thin but dense head. Aromas are heavy with floral and citrus hops but have a bit of a medicinal edge to them. Flavor is sharply bitter from the hops and it is pretty decent except for a bit of an astringent/medicinal quality that surfaces from time to time. BellsFan (47), Michigan, USA

This beer poured a dark orange/gold color with a short lived 1 inch head. The aroma consisted of citrus and hops. I really liked the taste of this beer. It has a very nice bitter taste that lingers. A great brew that I would love to get my hands on again.
