Commercial Description:
A complex malt and hop theme park in your mouth
Named after the hop flower Humulus Lupulus, this India Pale Ale style beer has enormous amounts of hop bitterness, flavor and aroma. With a very complex malt bill, flavors seem to meld with the hops to balance this ale and provide a ridiculous urge to sample more.

Bottle... Pours hazy and golden with a mid-sized, creamy, white head. Fantastic retention. The aroma is all about PNW hops and pink grapefruit. Medium to full-bodied with tickling carbonation. The flavor is very bitter with only a rumor of acidity. Lengthy, bitter finish. Thanks to dmschefke for providing the bottle!

Thanks to mikesgroove for this one. Pours clear gold with a white head. Nose is caramel, pine, and and some tart white grapefruit. Flavor is similar with lots of malt for support- I get a lot of citrus, mainly grapefruit here. Finish of this light-medium bodied beer is tart with stinging grapefruit.

Sampled draft at HopCat (Grand Rapids, MI). Pours a delicate hazy gold, moderate white head that laces very well with. Aromas are straight american hop, citrusy grapefruit and lemon, with touches of orange, a true melange, with decent bitterness, pale malts with a touch of heavier caramel, faint pine and resin. Initial is fruity, grapefruit and lemon balance more pale malts as the hops are the focus of this brew. Tropical fruits come in, as the bitterness is moderate, with refreshing quality, touch soapy on the finish, with fruity bitterness. A very nice IPA. Cheers!

12oz bottle. Pours a clear glowing slightly dark golden with a big rich frothy off-white head. Aroma of green hop pellets, citrus, resin, light honey sweetness, and great pale malt aroma. Flavor is at first sweet sugary, piney, then super bitter, definitely tree-like, really piney, lightly floral, hint salty, intense hops, mildly green but every bit as intense, salty like Sam Adams Imp. Pils, malt is just slightly biscuity, light honey/cereal sweetness, a bit juicy upfront. Medium/light bodied, slight hard-candy feel with active sharp sizzling carbonation. My taste-buds are in need of a vacation... mmm it’s really good!

Bottle - thanks dmschefke. Pours a hazy golden orange with a thin beige head. Nose is nice and hoppy, citrus, and sweet. Faint florals. Rich citrus hops and more florals in the flavor. The maltiness is noticeable, but the hops remain pretty intense. Smooth overall. Nice.

12oz bottle from iceicebaby. Pours a slightly hazy amber color with a one finger white head that settles slowly. Aroma is sweet and floral with notes of citrus, grapefruit, hints of pine, caramel, slight honey and spice notes. Flavor is sweet and floral with notes of pine, grapefruit, light citrus, caramel and honey notes. Generally medium body with a pleasing floral hop finish. Nice IPA.

(Bottle courtesy of Headbanger) - Color is a deep gold with a faint haze. Carbonation is good with a very thin head. Aroma is a bright hop scent. Taste is bitter and citric. Starting with a medium body it goes down with a sharp feel. Finish is hoppy with a mild malt feel and a bold bitterness. After taste is more bitterness that lingers with a bit of citrus. Overall its a balanced IPA that leans on the bitter more then the citrus.

Hazy orange with an inviting tan head that leaves waves of lace. Citrus and caramel dominate the aroma with orange. Thick body is dominated by the hops – citrus, grapefruit and some earthy one mixed in too. A decent enough of a malt backbone to make it balanced enough and a bitter finish that lingers on for awhile. Some buttery notes and bready were detected as well. Pretty solid effort from the land across the pond.
