Cloudy gold-to-orange pour with a medium head that dissipates somewhat quickly. Pine and bitter hops in the nose, but there’s a far more pronounced malt presence in the flavor. Very unassuming and balanced, so understated compared to what Shorts usually brews up. Crisp and full bodied, nice resinous finish. Decent IPA. ucusty (1913), Wake Forest, North Carolina, USA

Pours a deep glowing slightly cloudy orange with a small white head. Aroma is dominated by sweet and piney hops along with a more mild citrus fruit character. Flavor has a strong hop bite from start to finish. Intensely piney with fresh hop oils and a light grapefruit and citrus fruitiness. Just a little caramel malt helps balance this through a nice pleasant bitter finish. Medium bodied and a Bubbly active carbonation. Delicious flavor, a little weak on aroma but packed with nice fresh hops Beerlando (2351), Orlando, Florida, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jun 5, 2009 Bottle, courtesy northernbrews. Pours a hazy, medium orange-amber color with a somewhat golden glow when backlit. A thick, lasting head of off-white foam leaves ultra-sticky, clumpy cobweb lacing all the way down the glass. The aroma shows a fresh grain malt base with hints of toffee, but the star of the show is the bright orange and grapefruit hops. Hints of grass and pine resin join the citrusy bitterness. Flavors are well balanced, the lightly sweet toffee and malted grain countering the floral, grapefruit bitterness nicely. The lingering finish is lightly peppery. Medium bodied and even keeled, the palate suits the brew nicely. This is a very solid IPA. Cletus (5058), Connecticut, USA

Smells of pineapple, citrus, some resiny hints, dry. Taste blends bitter, dry and sweet citrus, some caramel, peppery splashes. Very well balanced. Sparky27 (1608), Phoenix, Arizona, USA

| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Jun 1, 2009 Thin offwhite head that lasts, stringy lasting lace. Hazy gold color. Nice hop nose, piney and less citrusy, faint malts too. Almost medium bodied, lightly resiny, maybe a tad thin, watery. Large hop flavors, bubble gummy, piney, juicey fruity notes, malts are laid way back and fairly dry. Nice resiny finish, biting hops are lovely imho. Nice brew! Props to dmschefke for the bottle!
