Commercial Description:
A complex malt and hop theme park in your mouth
Named after the hop flower Humulus Lupulus, this India Pale Ale style beer has enormous amounts of hop bitterness, flavor and aroma. With a very complex malt bill, flavors seem to meld with the hops to balance this ale and provide a ridiculous urge to sample more.

On tap at the brewpub. The body is hazy amber gold with a white head. The aroma was massive grapefruit with some almonds. The taste was strong grapefruit with some pecans. A nice clean and floral bitter finish. A great IPA.

On tap. Aroma and taste are hops bitterness. Dark amber color. Medium body. Medium head. No confusing this IPA for a water-lager! Had first bottle on 4/13/09. Again felt that taste was almost all hop bitterness, especially an extremely bitter after-taste!

Having had this on tap many times I was skeptical about trying it in the bottle. But I was not disappointed. The beautiful orangish red color and the strong aromatic smell of hops invites one to caress the true example of an ipa. The lingering bitterness of the hops beckons for another taste of this wonderful IPA.

Draft @ Brew HaHa. A hazy copper/orange with a medium sudsy white head.Big grapefruit, orange zest aroma, some pine and floral notes too.Flavor is very fresh and crisp, bitter up front with a rye/pale sort of malt in the middle and bitter at the end, peppery, orangy. Nice lacing left down the glass.Very good all around, very flavorful and enjoyable.

Bottle. Pours a bright orange golden color. Medium white head. Aroma is mostly of citrus and hops, maybe a slight hint of caramel sweetness. Taste is big, lots of woddy pine flavor, with a bit of vanilla sweetness. Very nice sweet malt balance with the huge flavorful hops. Great overall brew.

Great copper color with a big, fluffy head. Big hoppy aroma. Flavor is like a mouthfull of the freshest, best hops. Finish is brutally bitter. Absolutely wonderful IPA, perhaps my second favorite behind two hearted.

Bottled...Golden color with a nice lasting creamy white head. Aroma is a technical knockout of fresh grapefruity hops. Great complexity in the hop flavors here, with grapefruit and grass noticeable as well as some pine. some malt sweetness, and a bitter finish. Very nice.

Pours a hazy orangish gold color, with easily 3" of sudsy off-white head, which almost looks like it has some pink in it if you look at it in the light. Nice lacing. Not quite count-the-number-of-sips lacing, but close. Strong hoppy aroma. The hops hit you first. Piney, spicy, then floral. Heck, throw some citrus in there too. Then a subtle but substantial malt. More hops dominate the aftertaste. Smooth carbonation, lots of pine coats the tongue. Fantastically wonderfully hoppy bliss. Great IPA. I’m guessing that this is very similar (if not indeed the same) as Short’s "Jackson 5 IPA" from his days at Jackson Brewing / Zig’s.
