Bottle @ Kolding Shorts Tasting, 18.09.08.
Pours deep red-black with a small, creamy, beige film head. Aroma is fruity, sweet, vanilla, strawberries. Okay frothy mouthfeel. Flavour has good chocolate, plums, prunes, coffe and chocolate. A bit too light perhaps.

Bottle. [Drikkeriget Grand Shorts Imperial Series tasting, thanks to Jeppe for another great session] Small creamy beige head that mostly diminished. Spare display of lacework. Pitch black color. Aroma of strange chocolate and vegetables, coffee, roasted malt and mild hoppy bitterness. Maybe the vegetables/ chocolate came from the carob, couldn’t really tell as I have never tasted carob. Full bodied with a soft carbonation and thick texture. Moderated bitter and sweet flavor. Lingering bitter chocolate and vegetables finish.

A black apperance with a beige head. The aroma is chocolate, coffee, and licorice. The flavor is slightly bitter with some coffee, chocolate, and dark fruits. A nutty presence also exists. Overall a good stout.

This one is massive and very complex. It pours a nice black body with a fine brown head. The nose is full of coffee, and roasted and burned malts - very round and ballanced. I taste caramel malts, chocolate, christmas nuts, dry figs with a nice bitterness. The palate is full-bodied and round.

Bottle shared by eclectic at BCTC. Thanks Kevin! Pours dark brown with a tan head. Nose is roasty with oats, chocolate, coffee. Flavor was interesting mix, very similar to aroma, but I can only guess that the carob is what mixed things up. Pretty good beer overall and a nice change from the typical imperial stout.

Pours brown color with no head. Aroma is caramel, roast, coffee, and alcohol. Flavor is malty, caramel, cream, roast, coffee, and a bitter earthy finish.
