Bottle from Eastman Party Shoppe in Midland MI. Pours a ruby amber with a huge retentive pale pink head. Nice one dimensional berry aroma. Medium bodied with a fine Belgian like carbonation. Perhaps a little on the thin side. You sense the malt on the tongue, but the dominating flavor is raspberry and strawberry, but without the sweetness. Slightly acidic finish has some green apple and tea. Alcohol very well hidden. This reminds me of home brewed fruit beer.

Bottle 750 ml
Appearance: murky , muddy brown with off brown mid top , some carbonation noted.3+
Nose: great well presented aroma , fruity with light tartness , dried green apple with prunes , hint of bubble gum , berry with cherries. 7+
Flavor/Palate : thin bodied as fruit brew go yet with decent depth of flavours. Fruity with sugars , hint of molasses with raspberry inside. Alcohol is very well covered – only noted as slight burn at finish. Sublime.

Nice beer, orangy amber color nose is subtle, very fruity, all the berries. flavor is similar subtle Lotta fruit with a nice sweetness that’s not cloying, some bitterness on the finish really really drinkable. can’t figure where the booze is but it would catch up after a few bottles im sure

Bottle from the brewpub. Pinkish colourwith malty head. Looks more strawberry, smells more blackberry, tastes more blueberry. Berry tasty for a fruit beer, very drinkable. I grows on you too. Above average mouthfeel. Some thick lace. One I would have again.

Bottle at Captain Lawrence courtesy of Greg during the release of Smoke from the Oak Apple Brandy Barrel. Pours a hazy ruby hued brown with a thin white head. Light raspberry and wood. Medium bodied and tingly with some light caramel. Finishes with a light grapefruit tinged bitterness. Interesting.

Sampled from Beerlando’s bottle @ Redlight. Poured a murky ruddy color with a thin light khaki head. The aroma was sweet fructose that bordered on being too much. The taste did actually seem to be too sweet, with a general berry-like taste being the major theme. Decent, but not great.

750ml bottle with about 2 years on it. Pours a very lightly hazy, blood red color. A thin, foamy, tan colored head crowns the surface, leaving behind a wet wash that mostly rejoins the body. The nose is centered in dry raspberry Jello powder and blackberry jam, overly sweet and boozy, with the sugary fruit dominating all else. Flavors are just as disappointing, jammy and sweet, almost medicinal at times, focusing on artificial tasting berries. Hot, syrupy, and undercarbonated, the brew is a chore to drink. I appreciate the experimentation, but this is not one of Shorts’ better brews.

Bottle thanks to Steve at the Hopcat. Cloudy, soft ruby color with small beige head. Aroma is a lot of berries with sour grapefruit, a little earthy, sweet and sour aroma, citrus, a little dirty and a little nice. Flavor is big berry, a little sour but the same sort of earthiness as the aroma with grapefruit as well. Medium and creamy body. Awesome, unlike any fruit beer I’ve had before. You can feel a little bit of warming but it doesn’t have any sort of alc burn that you might associate with it.
