argo0 (6176), Washington DC, USA May 22, 2008 (750ml bottle, thanks General_Gao) Quickly dissipating medium white head atop hazy apple juice body. Aroma is medium sweet, spruce/pine, some floral, light bread. Taste is moderately sweet, juicy pine, some fruity, light grassy. Medium-full body, some resin, stickiness, alcohol well contained. CaptainCougar (4638), Rockville, Maryland, USA Dec 16, 2007 Bottle at the 2007 GABF: Pours a slightly hazy golden with a nicely-lacing frothy white head. Woodsy grapefruity nose has some pale malty notes. Body starts with a fairly full, sweet caramel maltiness and big fresh citrusy and piny bittering hops with some spruce character. Finishes bitter and crisp with some alcoholic warmth. Another tasty and unique offering from Shorts. hopdog (4569), Lansdale, Pennsylvania, USA Feb 8, 2008 750ml bottle acquired in trade with hoppymeal (thanks!). Bottle # 251 / 886. Poured a medium and hazy golden color with an averaged sized white head. Aromas of spruce, grassy, and citrus. Tastes follow suit. LIght fruitiness as well. Definitely spruce in there! goldtwins (3734), Nesconset, New York, USA Oct 28, 2007 GABF 2007: Poured a hazy yellow color with a white head. The aroma had huge spruce notes. It smelled like I was humping a tree in the forest. Big spruce flavor as well. The spruce is very dominant but it feels so right. Moderate bitterness on the finish that grows.. Sweet malty middle. Warming sensation is nice. Semi-dry finish.
