kiefdog (1567), Tampa, Florida, USA Nov 9, 2009 Sample at GABF 2009. Pours a golden to dark golden yellow with thin white head. Aroma is sweet and spicy with notes of pepper, light peat, citrus, honey, caramel, bread, yeast. Flavor is about the same. Medium body with a light spice finish. swoopjones (1862), Buffalo, New York, USA Oct 20, 2009 GABF 2009. Golden colored pour. Wit like spiciness, citrusy & somewhat soapy. OK average beer from Shorts nickd717 (1276), Palo Alto, California, USA Oct 12, 2009 GABF 2009. Golden color with a small white head. Aroma is lots of spices - pepper and coriander especially, with orange peel and wheat. Flavor is wheat and orange peel and a crazy blast of spices that is a bit overdone. Loads of pepper. Body is medium and spices are prickly on the palate. Overall I’d say this is only average as the balance is just not quite there. bdigital (585), Ft Wayne, Indiana, USA Aug 23, 2009 Draft @ Hopcat...pour was a light gold with a small white head. Notes of earthy hops and citrus are apparent with the peppercorn making an appearance as well. I was actually expecting the peppercorn to be subtle to the point of nonexistence but I was proved wrong. Body was crisp and refreshing with flavors of light wheat, light citrus and pepper. Good brew though I couldn’t pick up on the coriander notes whatsoever. deyholla (506), Bloomington, Indiana, USA Aug 18, 2009 On tap at Ashley’s. Poured gold with no head. Aroma had notes of citrus peels, cinnamon, peeper and a touch of coriander. Flavor began with sweet grain flavors before spices listed above kick in. Pepper was quite dominate in aftertaste. Sammy (3934), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Aug 7, 2009 Enjoyed at the brewpub on tap. Peppercorn, corriander, lemon, oranhe, spiced wheay. Medium mouthfeel. Light colour and very lacey. Served closer to room temperature and drinkable. Headbanger (1574), Aurora, Illinois, USA Jul 28, 2009 5oz sample at brewery 7/2/09-Pours a hazy golden yellow with a small white head. Aroma of peppercorns and citrus. Taste of the same with some coriander and citrus. This is a different tasting light bodied brew but still very well balanced and quite drinkable. MereLikesBeer (153), Royal Oak, Michigan, USA Jul 25, 2009 I had this on tap at MBGSF 09. It was a light orange color with a white head. Aroma was very nice, spicy, like the name states...but really it was a bit citrusy and had a lot of pepper, clove and ginger to the nose. It tasted malty and had a lemon citrus flavor along with all of the spices. Very nice.
