The aroma is super spicy – go figure – pepper, English lavender, orange rind. Medium-bodied with prickly carbonation. The flavor is a bit bland as the spices and peels don’t fully translate from the nose to the palate. There is a very subtle and pleasant white and black pepper burn. Finishes spicy-warm, acerbic and dry. Thanks to northernbrews and GoT for shipping and sharing the growler! heemer77 (4311), Savannah, Missouri, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 2/5 | 13/20 | May 6, 2008 On tap at the brewpub and also form a growler at a tasting. I am not sure why this is not listed as a wit as the only additional ingredient seemed to be the pepper. The body was hazy meidum gold with a white head. The aroma was spicy corriander with the classic oranges. However, it then went downhill. There was a strange off putting scent of carpet spot cleaner. The taste was strong concentrate orange juice with some light peach pits. Not much spice and pretty bland over all. Sammy (4051), Toronto, Ontario, Canada

Medium mouthfeel. Light colour and very lacey. Served closer to room temperature and drinkable. thedm (3836), Fort Wayne, Indiana, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Aug 31, 2004 This brew was sampled on tap at the brewery and poured a medium sized head of finely sized white colored mostly lasting bubbles that left behind a good lacing. The body was uncarbonated hazy and yellow in color. The aroma was spicy peppery cloven and very complex. The mouth feel was tingly and initially mellow then finished with a lingering mild spiciness. The flavor was complex with notes of spices and malt in a tingly hoppy hot mix. ClarkVV (3578), Allston, Massachusetts, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Aug 5, 2004 2004 draught at the MBGSBF. Golden/maize colored, bright and mostly clear with a small white head. Smells very powerful, bittersweet and spicy, with muted vinegar and a tangy spiced note that reminds me of black peppercorn wheat crackers. A hint of sweetness in there. Flavor is very round, sweet and spicy. This is one of the most heavily spiced beers I’ve tried. I did pick up some sweetness to it, though the heavy wheat presentation seemed to dry it out way too much. The pepper mixed with the citric qualities seemed to create a strange bittersweet (slightly remenescent of sweet and sour sauce). It still had some light beer qualities and was drinkable, just very unique. hotstuff (3176), Indiana, USA

Medium sized white head that was fizzy with fine-small sized bubbles that were mostly lasting. Uncarbonated, cloudy and a dark yellow hue. Aroma was hoppy, sweet and spicy. Spicy and hoppy flavor from start to finish. Palate was tingly. Medium bodied beer with good lacing. GeneralGao (3071), Iowa City, Iowa, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | May 6, 2008 Growler imported from Michigan by weepster. Thanks Mike. Poured a hazy light orange color. The soapy white head reduced quickly to a thin lasting foam. The aroma was of distinct black pepper, light citrus (lemon/orange), and pleasant honey touched cereal grain. Very nice. Dry, spicy, and citrusy on the tongue with less black pepper in the flavor than in the nose. The black pepper spiciness warmed the tongue well after finishing the glass. The citrus and pepper combination made for a vinaigrette-like flavor. This might do well as a marinade for ceviche. Dogbrick (2901), Columbus, Ohio, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | May 24, 2009 Thanks to Rogueone for sharing a growler. The beer is a hazy orange-amber color with a medium off-white head that recedes steadily. Stringy lacing on the glass. Aroma of pepper and wheat with a touch of malt. Light body with flavors of peppery wheat bread, malt and mild citrus. The finish is lightly spiced and fruity and the pepper lingers a bit. Interesting and above average overall.
