I had never heard of this brewery until I obtained this bottle in a trade, but apparently I’ve been missing out because this is a pretty nice pilsener. The nose started out citrusy, which didn’t really thrill me, but it has opened up quickly, becoming more grainy and fairly spicy. This has a nice flavor too. The somewhat bready maltiness is joined by a mildly bitter hops and a little Southwest spiciness. Tastes like a slight addition of chili peppers to spice things up a bit in the finish. Light-medium bodied. Medium straw in color, but extremely hazy, to the point of translucence. Not a large head on the pour, and it settles to a thin white sheen fairly quickly. Quite tasty and enjoyable. Not knowing what to expect, it was a most pleasant surprise. It’s just more proof (in my mind, at least) that New Mexico is capable of producing both fine food and drink. Hazy light yellow that forms a sticky white head.
The aroma carries a little lemony hop aroma.
Lightly sweet flavor, but no real malt or hops push forward in any assertive manner. Certainly more than a BMC, but overall, an average Pilsner. OhioDad (2491), Hilliard, Ohio, USA

Pours golden with an inch high fluffy white head that laces.. Carbonation bubbles up from the bottom like a geyser. Aroma is first of pilsner hops and as the previous poster said frosted flakes! (I laughed when I first read that but it is very true). Flavor is a nice grainy hop mix with just a touch of lemon and grass. Very crisp and clean on the palate and quite refreshing. A great beer for a hot summer day. JohnBarleycorn (394), Toronto, Ontario, Canada
| 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 2/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | May 2, 2005 Looks like a boring, flat, yellow macro lager. Sweet scents such as Frosted Flakes breakfast cereal and candy corn dominate the nose, plus a dose of mouldy cardboard. More sweet corn comes out in the flavour, plus a little pie crust and a surprisingly good grain/hop balance. Better than expected given the first impression, but not really that great. footbalm (1219), Salt Lake City, Utah, USA

| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 9/10 | 5/5 | 18/20 | Mar 5, 2005 Big thanks to Tanner Tavern Boys for sending this one! Very pale yellow, slight head. Faint bread aroma, with a touch of a floral note. So far, uninspiring. The taste, however, blew me away. Perfect balance, starts off with honey, turns into a delightful floral bitter hoppiness, and fades slowly into a honey accented, yet dry finish. An extremely well done pils. Highly recommended for anyone who is a fan of the style, or for those who want to see just how good a pils really can be.
