Commercial Description:
Our Harvest Ale was the first American beer ever brewed with 100% fresh picked, "wet hops." In just one day, we harvest hops in Yakima, WA, ship them that night to our brewery in Chico, CA, and then rush them into the brew kettle as they are unloaded at dawn the next day.

This extraordinary effort creates a beer with unmatched aromatics of pine and citrus with layers of spicey sweet notes that hop fanatic like us dream of all year. Enjoy!

"Wet hop ale 2008". Amber color, small off-white head. Rye bready, hoppy aroma. Sweetish, caramelly, bready with some late hoppyness. Sierra Nevada "house flavor" is evident. Sweetier than other beers from "Harvest series".

Bottle. Great depth to the aroma, and all presumably from hops. Musky, piney pungency, earthy spices, and a very light citrus character. Beneath that there’s a touch of biscuity malt character. Clear amber with a thin head and slow carbonation. Flavor is hop-centric but not overly bittered. Nice balance between a firm astringency and a refreshing crispness. Very earthy hop tones, unique from this brewery. Finishes dry with some biscuit notes and lingering bitterness.

PINE. 24 oz bottle - 13th Release. Crystal clear amber pour with a white head. Smell is of honey, subtle pine scent in the background. Taste is hardcore pine tree - in a good way. Up front and in the finish. Little bit of honey in the finish as well - goes down smooth. A very well-crafted beer. Very, very impressed with this.

Pours a light copper with a frothy slightly tinged white head. Gives off that aroma of "wet" hops with a hint of pine and citrus hops with a tad bit of caramel. The flavors are packed with fruity hops, some pine, citrus, slight roasted undertone, and a little caramel malt to balance. Very bitter finish and slightly dry. A well rounded beer for the style. This is how beers are meant to be made. Overall the flavors give off a slightly different flavor as a whole as a result of the way the hops were fresh.

Presentation: It was poured from a brown 24 oz bottle into a pint glass. The label reads 12th release 2008. Appearance: The head builds up tall, thick and firm from the slow pour. . It is light tan in color and has excellent retention. A nice small cap of foam hangs on until the last sip and as it slowly slides its way down the glass it makes lots of cool lacing that sticks to the glass. Under the head lies a beautiful deep amber colored body with just the slightest protein or chill haze. Smell: The aroma has a piney resin like hop character with some citrus notes as well. Under that are some light bready/malty notes with just a hint of estery/yeasty red apple skin notes as well as a touch of raw grain. Taste/Palate: Like the Southern Hemisphere Harvest, this Harvest has a good sturdy base of bready malt sweetness with a touch raw grain. Hop flavor is also quit firm and assertive. The hop character is that of tasty piney hops with some resiny and juicy lemony/grapefruit citrus notes. The bitterness from the hops is more than equal to the malt sweetness and lasts well into the finish. The palate has a nice solid medium feel with plenty of lively carbonation. Notes: Another outstanding selection from Sierra Nevada with big bold hop flavor and nice supporting malt.

24oz. bottle for 6 bucks! Pours a clear orange/amber body with a large, long lasting cream colored head. Nice lacing also. Aroma is hops, pine, caramel, toasted malts with some sweet notes. Flavor full of hops, grapefruit, malts, and some breads. Full mouthfeel, slick mouthfeel. Nice bitter finish. Really nice beer from SN.

good solid IPA which makes me wonder why they dont use either this or their anniversary recipe’s for their regular IPA which is not nearly as good. nice west coast formula except for the palate which stripped my mouth after a pint, but very nice, i like the wet hop version a little better

Clear red/copper color w/ thick white head, piney hop aroma w/ hints of toasted marshmallow, assertive and clean malty body that coats and softens the bitter finish, great velvety body
