The taste is at first hops but doesn’t finish as strong as I would like in an IPA. Great color. Great lacing. Good overall IPA. alexanderj (2247), Chino Hills, California, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Nov 28, 2009 This rating was probably long overdue; have had it before at least once. Bottle; poured a somewhat urky orange/amber color. Aroma of citrus, pine, caramel and earth. Flavor had a lot of caramel and spice, with earthiness in the finish. Some citrus throughout, but not quite as much as expected. Spiciness lingers in the finish. Good for the style. ALCOHOLNIZM (61), WARWICK, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 2/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Nov 20, 2009 THIS CLOUDY DARK ORANGE BEER SMELLS PLEASANT BUT QUITE FAINTLY. IT IS A IPA WITH DISTINCT HOP FLAVOR LACED WELL WITH PINE AND CITRUS IT IS GOOD HOWEVER IT IS NOT GREAT IT JUST LACKS ANY DISTINCTIVE QUAILITIES. DerBiermeister (516), Birmingham, Alabama, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Nov 17, 2009 A tasty brew, with a fairly balanced blend of hops and malts. Hoppier than many, but then again that is what Sierra Nevada is known for I guess. Good, but not too distinctive. Jine (896), Nutley, New Jersey, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Nov 17, 2009 10.23.09 A fine IPA from SN. Powerful. The usual bouquet of pine citrus and floral to be expected in the aroma. Bitter and powerful with just enough malt to balance. radiomgb (1974), Peterborough, Ontario, Canada
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Nov 16, 2009 Golden orange, lingering thin white head, good lacing.
Aroma is very hoppy, caramel malt sweetness, citrus, floral.
Flavour is lightly hoppy, caramel sweetness, dry, soft.
Bitter mouthfeel, light body, moderate carbonation.
Finishes long, light hops, dry.
Might be getting a bit old as the hops are starting to fade in the flavour. Fantastic aroma.
355ml bottle obtained in a trade with piscator34, thanks Kris.

Sweet, slightly stewed malt. Spicy resinous hop. Nice, and still quite drinkable, but unremarkable. Lacks the spark of freshness and would have aged better without the dry hop I suspect. tnkw01 (191), Knoxville, Tennessee, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Nov 15, 2009 Bottle. Reminds me more of a bitter pilsner then it does a IPA. Had great color. Deep golden color, almost an orange color. Taste, well, since I’m a malt fan I would have to say it’s ok. I would recommed it to IPA lovers but I probably won’t drink again.
