I’m a big fan of all things Sierra Nevada IPA, but this is probably the weakest of their entries. very mild taste that ends with an almost out of place back-of-the-throat bitterness, but nothing is very overwhelming about it. The regular IPA is better, and if you want a better special SN IPA, get Torpedo alagnak (381), Littleton, Colorado, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Sep 5, 2009 Nose is suprisingly subtle citrus hops and caramel. Flavor is piney hops front and back, nice mellow malt backbone through the middle. A little harsh on the finish. Nothing about the beer stands out as terribly special, but a good, drinkable american IPA. phaleslu (577), Cincinnati, Ohio, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Sep 4, 2009 Draft pint from Dewey’s in Clifton. Pours slightly hazy amber with a medium off-white head that leaves nice lacing behind. Lively hop aroma, also notes of citrus and nuts. Hops take charge of the flavor, too, without much else to speak of- perhaps a bit of citrus and malt. Bitter all the way through, smooth and crisp. Rustyham (598), miami, Florida, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Sep 4, 2009 A really caustic, dry bitterness, this is not very balanced. The color is nice, tho, and the aroma good too. Just wish it was more of a clever taste, not so brash. cblado (150), Wisconsin, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Sep 3, 2009 12 oz bottle. Pours a hazy amber color, nice pearly head. Aroma is a crisp hops, very light. Flavor is hoppy, bitter. Not a lot of citrus notes, but some pine. Overall a decent IPA. markas101 (597), Fargo, North Dakota, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Sep 3, 2009 33 cl bottle, Fargo, ND, USA. Slightly hazy amber colour, head is tinged wtih some hazelnut type colour. Impressive hop aroma, warming. Bright first sip, smooth, with a warming mellowness. Full hoppiness is well balanced, with a nice bitter bite on the finish. Very nice. DaSilky1 (2032), San Diego, California, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Sep 3, 2009 This reminds me of anchor liberty. The slickly citrus notes of grapefruit and lemon end on a high dry note and the aftertaste just as a soothing bitter cascade essence. The nose was cascadey and sharp..there was a touch more malt character here compared to liberty ale, but I dig it...just not as much. vacantskies (91), Spokane, Washington, USA
