Commercial Description:
The 2007 Anniversary Ale features prominent usage of Cascade hops– the signature hop used in Sierra Nevada’s most popular product, Pale Ale. It is an American Style IPA with a big, fragrant pine and citrus hop aroma balanced by the sweetness of two-row pale and caramel malt. It finishes with an additional Cascade dry-hopping creating a big hop aroma Sierra Nevada fans will look forward to.

Clear coper pour with a frothy offwhite head. aroma is grapefruit and pine with a bit of vanilla maltiness. Flavor is a bit toned down from the flavor, a bit watery. Hopping is citric but the malt overpowers it until the finish which is dry and bitter. session-able but overall a little disappointing.

On tap at the Allen Street Grill - State College, PA. Aroma is a quick snap of lemon, grapefruit, and pear-tinted hops. Pours a coppery golden, nearly clear, with a well-lacing white head. Flavor is forward and clean. Snappy, bright hops are grassy and delightful. Sunshine in a glass and breezy. Mouthfeel carries the hops and light alcohol. Gently sweet. Young. Fresh. Nice. Nothing unique or original, just a solid, fresh hoppy ale.

Poured into a tulip this beer produced a hazed copper color with a small, white 1 1/2 finger head. It smelled of pine, citrus and a strong malt presence. The taste didn’t match the smell for me. There was a small hop presence with an even stronger malt focus. It did, however, have great lacing. The beer was above average and a great value at 7.99 a six pack. A great sessionable beer.

Coppery/amber color, fine head. Slightly sweet for an IPA yet well within limits. Herbal notes but not getting the pine company suggests. I thought Sierra Nevada making an IPA would result in a great product....didn’t get great but got very good.. $8.99/sixer @ Publix

A nice copper beer with a small offwhite head that doesn’t last. The aroma is a vague hoppiness, a bit citrusy and earthy. The flavor is hop bitterness with a bit of a caramel malt backbone. This is basically a somewhat hoppier version of their pale ale.

Amber pour with a nice white head...Very nice hop aroma of pine and citrus...Medium body with crisp carbonation...Hops dominate the flavor...Just enough malty sweetness to balance out the finish...Very mild lingering bitterness...Well balanced IPA...Enjoyable experience

Bottle, pours slightly hazy medium amber with a 3 finger, chunky beige head that has great retention and leaves some lacing. Aroma is citrus, pine, prairie wildflower, and lots of herbal notes, light caramel and grainy malts. Flavor is lots of herbal, floral and planty hops, citrus, a little pine, mostly herbal/planty notes though, caramel, toasted grain and bready malts, this stuff becomes more malty and the citrus comes out a little more at slightly higher temperatures than I would usually enjoy my IPAs the most at. Were it not for me giving this stuff time to warm up it would have gotten a much lower score. Finish is herbal hops and citrus rind, and a little caramel and biscuit to the fade. Palate is light to medium body, slick at first, then slightly dry to finish, with a very active, but not too sharp carbonation. Overall this stuff doesn’t really do it for me, it got a little more enjoyable as it warmed, but this still isn’t the hop profile I wan’t in my IPA and the malts do nothing to help.

12 oz bottle. Clear golden orange with a sticky long lasting off white head. Big hop aroma of citrus, pine and flowers, there is also some caramel scents too. Perfect balance of sweet and bitter, leaning towards the bitter side as any good IPA should. Mouth feel is a bit syrupy and there is some active carbonation to lighten the body. Overall this is a great every day drinking IPA.
