| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Aug 25, 2009 A nice copper beer with a small offwhite head that doesn’t last. The aroma is a vague hoppiness, a bit citrusy and earthy. The flavor is hop bitterness with a bit of a caramel malt backbone. This is basically a somewhat hoppier version of their pale ale. | 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Aug 25, 2009 Bottle, pours slightly hazy medium amber with a 3 finger, chunky beige head that has great retention and leaves some lacing. Aroma is citrus, pine, prairie wildflower, and lots of herbal notes, light caramel and grainy malts. Flavor is lots of herbal, floral and planty hops, citrus, a little pine, mostly herbal/planty notes though, caramel, toasted grain and bready malts, this stuff becomes more malty and the citrus comes out a little more at slightly higher temperatures than I would usually enjoy my IPAs the most at. Were it not for me giving this stuff time to warm up it would have gotten a much lower score. Finish is herbal hops and citrus rind, and a little caramel and biscuit to the fade. Palate is light to medium body, slick at first, then slightly dry to finish, with a very active, but not too sharp carbonation. Overall this stuff doesn’t really do it for me, it got a little more enjoyable as it warmed, but this still isn’t the hop profile I wan’t in my IPA and the malts do nothing to help. savnac (453), Palmer, Alaska, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Aug 25, 2009 12 oz bottle. Clear golden orange with a sticky long lasting off white head. Big hop aroma of citrus, pine and flowers, there is also some caramel scents too. Perfect balance of sweet and bitter, leaning towards the bitter side as any good IPA should. Mouth feel is a bit syrupy and there is some active carbonation to lighten the body. Overall this is a great every day drinking IPA. SHANER4 (386), Green Bay, Wisconsin, USA

| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Aug 24, 2009 This is an outstanding ale. their pale ale is a benchmark for APAs. This ale has wonderful citrus aroma at the pouring. A frothy white head with a rich amber color. This ale has great character with excellent hops. The finish is smooth and with no bitterness. Has a strong hop bite, but is a little thin tasting. Very similar to their popular pale ale, but with slightly more hops. mcox90 (654), Wilton, USA
