Commercial Description:
The 2007 Anniversary Ale features prominent usage of Cascade hops– the signature hop used in Sierra Nevada’s most popular product, Pale Ale. It is an American Style IPA with a big, fragrant pine and citrus hop aroma balanced by the sweetness of two-row pale and caramel malt. It finishes with an additional Cascade dry-hopping creating a big hop aroma Sierra Nevada fans will look forward to.

2007 edition. best before02/08/unreadable. sampled 2009-jan-12. pours a clear, slightly cloudy orange/copper/amber. huge head that soon gets half its original size. fantastic hoppy citrussy fresh aroma. not too hoppy, some sweetness too. flavor : moderately hoppy, sweet grapefruit, faint yeast, faint caramel, faint malts. flavor is far from as fresh as the aroma, but very nice anyway. i like the way the sweetness envelopes the fresh hoppiness. vey drinkable.

2008 edition: bottle->tulip: Pours a huge, frothy, off-white lasting head atop a clearamber body. Malt aroma is toasted caramel and cookie, hops of perfume, and light yeast. Body is medium, texture is thick, and the finish is astringent. Flavor’s duration is average, being lightly acidic and bitter. A winner in my opinion.

Hazey copper with white foam. Aroma of cascade and flavor of pine, citrus, slight malt. A prickly, medium body makes up this IPA. Nothing too complex but an enjoyable beer none the less.

Pours hazy dark amber with a good sized head that leaves plenty of sticky lacing. Aroma is full of flowery hops, with just a hint of citrus, not sweetness or alcohol. Mouthfeel is full, not fizzy, slightly on the watery side. Tastes hoppy bitter to start, piney and flwery notes come out. Ends with a piney/grassy/bitter orange peel bitterness. Could have been a littel sweeter, malt base is missing.

12oz bottle from Sheps Deli (St. Pete, FL). 2008 vintage. Pours a generally clear copper color with a two finger foamy off-white head that settles slowly and amply laces the glass. Aroma is slightly floral with notes of spice, fresh-cut grass/hay, some grape and hop notes. Flavor is slightly sweet and slightly hoppy with fresh butter and citrus notes. Generally medium body with a slightly bitter hoppy finish.

350 ml bottle, 2008 vintage, courtesy of Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. ABV is 5.9%. Orange to amber colour, big off-white head with an orangey hue. Lovely aroma of Cascade hops, piney and grapefruity notes. The flavour is distinctly hoppy throughout, lots of pine needles, grapefruity bitterness in the finish, very bitter aftertaste. Hints of caramel malts, but the beer is not too sweet. A nice and very drinkable IPA.

Getting notebook online. Draft at SDFOB 2007. Pretty tasty brew. Pretty good hop nose with nice pine and some orange peel. Flavors have a nice hop balance with a hint of caramel.
