Commercial Description:
The 2007 Anniversary Ale features prominent usage of Cascade hops– the signature hop used in Sierra Nevada’s most popular product, Pale Ale. It is an American Style IPA with a big, fragrant pine and citrus hop aroma balanced by the sweetness of two-row pale and caramel malt. It finishes with an additional Cascade dry-hopping creating a big hop aroma Sierra Nevada fans will look forward to.

12 oz bottle. Pous murky gold with a big head that lingers around for a while. Nice hoppy aroma with some bold citrus notes. Flavor is similiar with some pine notes in the background. Somewhat dry and a short bitter finish. I do wish this had more of a hop bite, but it is still a very drinkable IPA.

Pours a slightly hazy amber, with a thick, loose head that fades quickly. Fruity hop aroma, with no real malt. Very bitter hop flavors, without a good body to match.

Bottle from Utobeer market stall. Pours orange with a white head which soon disappears. Nose of citrus, sulphur, vanilla, pears. Tastes of grapefruit, herbs, summer fruits, ginger. Sweet, hoppy mouthfeel. Finishes laden with hops. Tasty.

Bottle: Poured a hazy amber color ale with a large foamy head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma of piney and citrus hops are easily discernible. Taste is also dominated by some fresh citrus and piney hops with typical Cascade flavor with a solid malt backbone. Body is quite with limited filtration and good carbonation. Well done though sometime too much of one-thing is not that fun.

12oz bottle. 2009. Pours a hazy, orange-amber colored body with a finger-width, thick and creamy, off-white head that dissipates slowly and leaves lots of lacing. Aroma is sweet grapefruit pines, freshly baked bread, moderately sweet caramels, some brown sugar, and a light crystal. Flavor has lots of grapefruit and lemony pines, but lots of crystals and caramels to balance. Some more fresh bread and earth as well. Finishes with more of a flowery bitterness and a deeper caramel that lingers for a long duration with lots of flowers and pines. Medium to full body and smooth with a soft carbonation. Overall, a very solid IPA. Fairly heavy, but brighter bitterness with plenty of malts to balance. Lots of fresh citrus and very clean. Great IPA.

Orange brown liquid with a thick head that disappeared quickly. Aroma was mostly of spices. The taste is spiciness that I can’t distinguish with perhaps a bit of pine flavor which lingers into the finish.

By normal standards appearance is as any other fine IPA is - nice amber color. Nose is the best part of this ale - very, very citric and fresh hop aroma. On the palate this ale is very dry, somewhat sharp, and biased towards the hops without much balance. Body is medium to thin and somewhat sharp on the finish.

Pours a clear amber with a small head. This beer has a fresh aroma of malty citrus. It tastes of a blend of grapefruit, bitter hops and malt. It goes down fairly bitter. A very fine offering from Sierra Nevada.
