| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Oct 2, 2009 Big and citrusy, this special IPA pours an orangy amber with a fluffy white head. Redolent with the expected cascade grapefruit aroma, the nose is very bright, also showing significant piny resins. the body is light, and starts slightly sweet and fruity, but the hops take hold quickly and build to a long bitter finish. Lightly sweet caramel malt shows, but is largely overpowered by the ample biting hop character.

| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Dec 11, 2009 By normal standards appearance is as any other fine IPA is - nice amber color.
Nose is the best part of this ale - very, very citric and fresh hop aroma.
On the palate this ale is very dry, somewhat sharp, and biased towards the hops without much balance.
Body is medium to thin and somewhat sharp on the finish. SorenE (118), , New Zealand
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Dec 8, 2009 pretty good but not special IPA, a little weak for an IPA though more like pale ale I would say. lots of bisquity maltiness and a fair load of cascade too Stellaaaa (68), Tennessee, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Dec 6, 2009 Pours a clear amber with a small head. This beer has a fresh aroma of malty citrus. It tastes of a blend of grapefruit, bitter hops and malt. It goes down fairly bitter. A very fine offering from Sierra Nevada. Jsawyer (286), Glenside, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Dec 3, 2009 Bottle; pours a thick syrupy head that never subsides atop a hazy amber body leaving copious lacing. Aroma is of grapefruit-pine with notes of freshly baked bread, slightly berry-ish, rounded with caramel. Flavor starts bitter, strong but not cloying, has a moderate malty sweetness to it and hints of maple syrup. Palate is just about perfect for an ale. This is clearly a superior product to most of whats out there - I was delightlfully surprised. BroSpud (606), , Massachusetts, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Dec 2, 2009 12oz bottle. Fairly decent IPA. Pours a light amber with a white head. Good ole SN hoppiness though overall I found this one to be a bit on the thin side. Expected something heavier and more extreme for an anniversary ale. nathan30533 (150), Dahlonega, Georgia, USA
| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Nov 29, 2009 So upon approach the smell is that of hops but not overpowering. Good aroma. The taste is at first hops but doesn’t finish as strong as I would like in an IPA. Great color. Great lacing. Good overall IPA. alexanderj (2265), Chino Hills, California, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Nov 28, 2009 This rating was probably long overdue; have had it before at least once. Bottle; poured a somewhat urky orange/amber color. Aroma of citrus, pine, caramel and earth. Flavor had a lot of caramel and spice, with earthiness in the finish. Some citrus throughout, but not quite as much as expected. Spiciness lingers in the finish. Good for the style. ALCOHOLNIZM (64), WARWICK, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 2/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Nov 20, 2009 THIS CLOUDY DARK ORANGE BEER SMELLS PLEASANT BUT QUITE FAINTLY. IT IS A IPA WITH DISTINCT HOP FLAVOR LACED WELL WITH PINE AND CITRUS IT IS GOOD HOWEVER IT IS NOT GREAT IT JUST LACKS ANY DISTINCTIVE QUAILITIES.
