Not at all sure this is the same beer as it was listed in the programme at 6.7%. On the other hand I can’t see Sierra Nevada making a special brew just to send a couple of casks to GBBF. Perhaps the programme was wrong as this didn’t really taste 6.7%. In fact it came over as a decent, but fairly standard, UK best bitter. Amber colour, slight haze but decent condition. Fairly prominent trad hop presence but nothing that really sang out. Some tangy/spicy nuances. Quite authentic, and compared reasonably well with similar UK offerings, but perhaps not quite what I was looking for from a US beer at a festival over-supplied with UK best bitters. Coals to Newcastle?

Lightly sweet biscuity malt aroma, light peanut brittle and fuggle/British herbal hops. Crisp & light mouthfeel. Nice biscuity/peanuty malt back that gives off a light sweetness. Some soft herbal hop offer a touch of bitterness and vegetal on the back. Clean and balanced. Simple but solid. Pwn3d (1119), Manhattan, New York, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 5/5 | 15/20 | Jun 4, 2009 On tap during Sierra Nevada week. A delicious biscuity ale with a short bitter finish that has you constantly sipping. Similar to Boddingtons, but has some pine spices and richer flavors. Awesome brew and my favorite of the night. 3.75
