Brown and clear with a creamy foamy head - the head dimimished but stayed creamy. Aromas of cola, caramel, french bread and chocolate. Very crisp on the tongue with a long finish. Very nice brown - more kick than a Newcastle.

Brown colour with minimal head. Nutty flavour, with a pleasant malty blance. A little dry but a basic and slightly flavourful brown ale.

The color was a thin amber, which looked watery. The head was thick and fizzy but dissapeared quickly. The aroma was not very complex. There was a slight sour malt taste. The palate was thin and watery. The finish was bitter and waxy.

Poured a lean thin copper with a thick fizzy quickly dissapating head. The aroma was thin with some hop showing through. The flavor was thin fizzy harsh with some waxy hop bitterness. The palate was not pleasant, same with the finish. A below average brown ale at best. On sale for 3.99, wouldnt pay much more.

12oz bottle(2006)- Aroma of amlat and hops on a nice brown body with a nice off white head that had good retention. taste of malt, little honey, and dark malt. Nice tasting but expecting more and I thought a little watery and light.

Pours a clear darker brown color with a tan head. Aroma is of chocolate, caramel, roasted malts, and slight hoppiness. Flavor starts off with chocolate and roasted malts and finishes with caramel and some bitterness that lingers for a little. A decent brew.

(2006 bottle) Pours a see thru mohogany-brown and a hugh head that slowly fades. Aroma of roasts and hops. This is worth trying but i perfer their porter which is a way better dark ale. Also, this is not the best example of the style. However, the flavor is big in hops and smoothed out by the flavorful water just like every beer from this brewery. I had one with a meat lovers pizza and it was resfreshing bitter interplay with the meats.
