| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Nov 18, 2006 A very indistinct nose with a touch of iced tea. Talk about boring, very cleany and soft mouthfeel with little distnction. This is Newcastle with color. GG (1656), NorCal, California, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Nov 17, 2006 This was just a so-so beer with nothing really jumping out at me and shouting bad or good either way. I can say that it’s easy to drink, tasty for a brown ale and nothing offensive to me at least. Aroma was a bit sweet, perhaps caramel and some chocolate, and there was a bit of hops there too. Appearance was a dark earthy brown, fairly clear and a decent sized head. Mouthfeel was rather unremarkable, but it wasn’t horrible either. Flavor was much the same, although it was obviously sweet, with a bit of a roasty nut flavor to go with the hops in the background. Quite drinkable and a decent brown ale. badnewsbeers (1026), Grand Rapids, Michigan, USA

| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Nov 13, 2006 Bottle from DRE. Pours deep coppery amber with 1-finger off-white head. Aroma of grainy bready caramel malt, some tart figy fruit, and some hops. Tastes caramel malty, with some brown sugary spices, including nutmeg, and some hops and finishing fruit. Tastes like a hoppy brown ale/ESB sort of amalgamation. Not bad, but not something I’d go out of my way for. BitchesBrew (710), Berkeley, California, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Nov 9, 2006 [bottle] Pours a clear brown color, with a reddish tint. Huge, off-white head diminishes quickly. Surprisingly sharp aroma, quite hoppy and acidic, with a little bit of malt to back things up. Flavors are slightly sweet, with nutty malts and some earthy, contrasting hops. Doesn’t deliver much in the malty/sweet end of things, but still remains a very drinkable brown ale. bethmatt0421 (319), Covington, Kentucky, USA

| 2.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 8/20 | Nov 6, 2006 Bottle. Odd smell, kinda chundery or something, slightly acidic. Palate is lightly sweet, with some nuttyness, caramel. Finish has some light earthy malt characters. Not as sweet as other brown ales i’ve had, which is good, but a little thin.
