Oct 21, 2006 (Bottle, Stockholm Beer Festival, 8 Oct) Dark amber colour with off-white head. Malty nose with toffee, chocolate and spicy, citrussy hop aromas. Malty, nutty taste with toffee and notes of citrus in the finish. An ok brown ale, but not really exciting.

clear dark amber with a thick tan head.
Patchy lace
Aroma is caramel and a touch of citrus.
Flavor is mostly sweet and caramel with some grapefruit in the mix.
Good stuff.

Oct 20, 2006 Draught at old Chicago in Coralville, IA. Clear light brown color with tan head that left a little lace on the glass. Light nutty aroma with a whiff of malty brown sugar mixed with subdued sprucy hops. Dry on the tongue. Earthy flavor and a hint of dried leaves. Typical brown ale in my opinion...not very exciting, but at the same time decent.

Oct 20, 2006 Pours a nice dark brown with an off white head. Aroma was refreshing with definate notes of malts, hops, caramel and brown sugar. The flavor is smooth with a nice body and creamy palate, with hints of chocolate, malts, hops, and some coffee. A very well balanced beer.

Oct 19, 2006 Bottle (12oz). Poured deep clear chestnut with a small beige head - 4 points for a truly elegant colour. Dry roast nutty malt aroma, faint parched floral hops, tart berry fruit - different, balanced. Taste is also dry, bitter and slightly tart - nutshell, slightly toffeeish roast malt, cranberry, more bitterness in the finish. Acceptable body for a brown, light astringency and very good carbonation - a good brown ale, not syrupy and sweet like most.

Oct 18, 2006 On tap at Brewkettle: Brown in color with a an off white head and nice lacing. Aroma, caramel, roasted malts and some balancing hops. Flavor, rich maltiness, but a little thin on the body. Some light hoppiness to it. Nothing special.
