Oct 17, 2006 This must be the new sierra nevada in town.. bought it locally in a single. Pours out a brown color with a small tan head that goes away quickly. Smell is roasted malts and brown sugar. Taste is sweet, smooth, and has a nice little hop taste. Roasted tasting and mouthfeel. Not bad, actually. Could use a little more body, but all in all, its not bad, could be a session beer, but probably not one I would reach for over some of the other beers out there.

Oct 16, 2006 Updated: Sep 26, 2007bottle: Strong aroma, earthy and nutty. I have no idea why the head starts out so huge. A nice flavor with hints of mocha and caramel, ending with a good amount of hops and bite. Nice dark chocolate finish. A little thin, but sometimes that’s a good thing.

Oct 15, 2006 2006 bottle. Orange hued clear mahoganey. Thin creamy off-white head. Aroma seems juvenile and devoid of much of anything. Lightly toasted malt. Flavor is light and has a roasty slightly sour bitter end and a slight German feel. Thats about it. Not a fan.

Oct 14, 2006 All of Sierra Nevada’s beers are solid and well-balanced. Because they’re not overpowering, they don’t get very higher reviews. This brown ale is a very nice quaffer. It tastes of brown sugary, buttery malt and light hops. Not every beer has to have 12% alcohol and 1,000 calories.

Oct 14, 2006 Bottle. Very dark brown with good head and lots of lacing. Malt and caramel aroma. Very smooth, well carbonated. Good balance, good brown.

Oct 13, 2006 Pour is dark brownish amber with small white head. Lots of carbonation. Aroma is caramel, malts, hops. Not a whole lot flavor in this one, but for this style this can somtimes be a blessing in disguise. Nothing special, nothing offensive.

Oct 13, 2006 Pour is a cola brown with a huge white head. Aroma is a nice mix of malts and caramel. One of the most malty browns i have ever had. Flavor is malts with maybe some cinnamon and brown sugar. Very tasty for a brown, which is not one of my most fav styles.
