Quite the tasty ale. Great pour....thick mahogany head. Aroma is rich with caramel, toffee, nut and hint of chocolate malt. Flavor is malty, with sweet caramel, roasted nut and a subtle hop hint in the finish. Mouthfeel is nice and creamy. Overall a great brown ale.

Comes out of the tap a clear mahogany brown with a thick, fluffy, fine-bubbled cream-colored head. Aroma is malty and spicy with just a hint of caramel. Flavor is malty and has a strong overtone of cinnamon, as well as a hint of yeast and touches of caramel and hops. Texture is very smooth and substantial, just a little tingly and quite satisfying.

12 oz bottle. Pours clear brown with a thin fizzy tan head Smells of caramel. Tastes of burnt sugar, caramel, malt, and tea. This is a 2006 bottle I’m drinking, but this isn’t good. Pretty foul and funky tasing, even for a brown ale, which I’m not a big fan of.

On-tap at PP C’Bad. Pours hazy dark brown with a moderate sized off-white head, good lace. Smells caramelly malty and slightly chocolatey. Nice. Tastes sweet and malty, slightly roasty, slight chocolate. Dry, nice. Medium body, good carbonation.

This dark brown ale poured with a thin beige head. There is a roasted malt flavor with a chalky brown finish.

From a 12 ounce bottle poured a thin brown body with a medium off-white head. Nutty and malty like an English nut brown but with more piquant PNW hops. Roasty and mildly bitter. Very enjoyable.

Top preshure tap at the White Horse, Parsons Green, London. Dark copper with a large head that disappears quickly. The aroma was a nutty, malt, roast smell. The taste contained more hops than I expected. Very nice.
