2006 bottle. Head is initially small, frothy, light brown, mostly diminishing. Body is medium brown. Aroma is lightly malty (nuts, caramel, toasted bread), moderately yeasty (dough). Flavor is moderately sweet, lightly bitter. Finish is lightly sweet, moderately to heavily bitter, slightly unclean. Medium body, watery texture, lively carbonation. Badly unbalanced and unclean finish plus the usual Sierra Nevada yeast-bomb nose equals no fun.

[At Stockholm Beer Festival] A red-brown beer with a huge light brown head. The aroma is sweet with lots of caramel. The flavor is sweet malty and quite hoppy with notes of straw.

Rated on draft @ Stockholm beer festival. Clear brown with beige full head. Roasted malts and some fudge in the aroma. Discrete bitterness competes with the fudge. Medium body, well balanced.

Draft @ Papago. Pours dark brown with reddish highlights, medium head, with very nice lacing. Aroma is mild and pleasant, sweet coffee drink, and also very clean. Flavor is cold fresh coffee, and bittersweet chocolate. Thin bodied yet still quite substantial with some creamy milk notes. Quite tasty, low in the hop department for SN, but enjoyable.

Keg @ Stockholm Beer Festival 2005
Bread like aroma. heavily bitter for a brown ale, but expected for Sierra Nevada (and other american small breweries). Short aftertaste and a sort of not interesting.

(Stockholm Beer Festival 2005) Amber, offwhite head. Malty roasted aroma. Flavor starts mild and malty, then turns into a grassy hoppiness with some fruits as well. Nice but maybe a bit flat.

Draught at Stockholm Beer Festival. Nut brown, creamy head. Sweet and roasty with medium body and clean, hard, rounded mouthfeel. Pleasant grapefruity hops leads to a lingering bitter finish.
