On tap at the White Horse, Parsons Green, 4th July 2008. Rich brown in colour with a sweet malty aroma with a hint of marshmallows. Malty and balanced, this is a decent brown ale. The bitterness comes through nicely at the finish. Very drinkable.

Poured from tap a darker shade of brown with smallish light-tan head. Aroma was a mild roast with a bit of nut and malt but little carbonation. Flavor was dry with mild bitterness, roast, malty, nutty, and a light maple syrup. I found this one a bit light on flavor for me. Ok for sipping but not spectacular, was thinking about was else I could have had instead.

I had this beer at the Sierra Nevada tasting at the Brickskeller in DC. It pours a dark brown fluid that seems to be filtered or "lightly filitered" with the characteristic Sierra Nevada head. Always fluffy, with great retention. The aroma is of dark malt and bread with a touch of sweetness. A taste reveals subtle hints of brown sugar, maple syrup (maybe) with a slightly bitter aftertaste. Good beer.

Pours a hazey, semi clear brown colour with a medium tan head. Rumbles full of nuttiness, fresh roasted coffee, vanilla and maple syrup. Mouthfeel is moderately carbonated, othewise smooth and creamy- lots of sweet, not overly rich roasted malt and nutty flavors.

Nice dark amber color with an off white head and ok lacing. Sweet/malty aroma. The taste is like the smell, sweet, malty, full bodied.

Bottle. Poured deep brown with thin beige head. Full malty aroma. Malty flavour, with nutty and toffee notes. Lasting pleasing finish. Just enough hoppiness. Note: don’t serve this too cold!

Chestnut brown colour. Rich, thick head. The aroma is nutty, chocolatey. Smooth, creamy body with a palate of nuts and light chocolate.

Bottle. Dark brown pour w/ small head. Not at all memorable, was expecting much more. Smooth taste but very weak. Typical brown but very weak.
