I think this bottle must have lagered during the 12+ months it sat in the cooler at the liquor store, as the flavors are very subtle and clean. So, with that in mind... beer pours a very dark brown with a thin white head that becomes a ring of foam that stick through the whole tasting. Typical brown ale aromas present: nutty, sweet, malty. Something off in there, too: a little sour. Mouthfeel is thicker than expected and there is a moderate parching effect on the tongue. Flavors are almost too subtle to pick up: dusty malt, a hint of hop spice and a touch of bitterness on finish. Some sourness in background. Sadly, it didn’t age as well as I had hoped. puzzl (2648), New York, New York, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Dec 1, 2007 Draft at Blind Tiger. Pretty unexciting, typical brown. Light malt is a bit lactic, and there is a fizzy mineral taste that is a bit off putting. A good bit of diacetyl gets in the way, along with too much carbonation. alexsdad06 (1102), Ohio, USA

The aroma is sweet malts, light nuts, and dough. The flavor is caramel malt, nuts, some hops are present barely, and bread. Some bitterness in the finish. Not bad, not special either. rocbyter (924), Waterbury, Connecticut, USA

Aromas of citrus and hops with a hint of malt. Nicely balanced flavours of hops and malt as well. Some citrus in there as well. Medium body with nut grapefruit finish. Not Sierra Nevadas best, but good none the less. rcasta (489), El Salvador

| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Sep 13, 2007 2006 bottle - Pours dark amber with a one finger lingering head. It has a light caramel malt aroma. The flavor is mostly malt as expected with some nutty flavor. Medium bodied and smooth, I thought it was kind of bland. I was expecting more from Sierra Nevada. kp (8500), Woodstock, Georgia, USA
