Caramelly and slightly roasted malt aroma with milk chocolate and a light spicy touch. Medium bodied and quite smooth. Good balance but a short finish. fakepurseninja (782), Washington, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jul 1, 2007 Smells like a wet dog - tastes much better though. Lots of toasted malt flavour with a subtle caramel sweetness and maybe a little bitter coffee bean bitterness. jetzler (622), oklahoma city, Oklahoma, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 12/20 | Jun 17, 2007 Bottle. Nice rich amber malts, with a bit of carmelization. Well balanced in the hop profile. Bitterness balances the sweet malts. sandollor (47), Germany
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 12/20 | Jun 14, 2007 Almost nutty in flavor with darker head. Tastes strong on the hops and bold in flavor. Left a bitter taste on the tongue, that leaves quickly. Especially after another swig. larsniclas (3384), Gothenburg, Sweden

Dark brown with a thick, creamy, off-white head.
Not much aroma; some toffee and chocolate.
Some bitterness but overall way too thin. rickgordon (3297), Göteborg, Sweden

Red-copper-brown colour. Big on nutty hops, plus chocolate with accompanying caramel. Tasty, but very one-dimensional. ChainGangGuy (2562), Kennesaw, Georgia, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Jun 10, 2007 Appearance: Pours a dark brown body with a soapy, beige-colored head.
Smell: Lightly toasted, nutty aroma with a touch of grassy hops. Sadly, the smell is rather lifeless.
Taste: An uninspired flavor of caramel malts, grain husks, and some grassy hops that show up in the semi-dry finish.
Mouthfeel: Medium-thin body. Sharply carbonated. Chalky mouthfeel. It could stand to have a more body to it.
Drinkability: I am going to take a pass on the Sierra Nevada Brown Ale. This beer pretty much solidifies Ando’s idea: that a beer with nothing to offer is not a beer worth drinking. TomDecapolis (3168), Skippack, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 12/20 | Jun 6, 2007 Pours a tanslucent brown with a bunch of amber highlights. Head pours medium creamy/bubbly off white that left some lacing. Aroma of mixed nuts, sweet malts, citurs hops, Flavors of the malty/nutty mix but with a decent hop flavor along with citrus notes. Solid/balanced Brown Ale.
