Didn’t really find the saison in here...in fact, tons of hefe characteristics with strong banana and clove presence. Dark ruby brown color with a small eggshell head...medium mouthfeel. Don’t really understand this one. SSSteve (2104), Atlanta, Georgia, USA

| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Oct 2, 2009 On tap at Three Floyds served in a tulip. Mahogany brown pour with some ruby highlights and a lasting cap of tan foam that produced some nice lace. The aroma included cloves, orange peel, some wheat, and some bready yeast. The flavor also had some noticable wheat notes, and also some clove and spicy yeast. Kinda weird for a saison. Medium-bodied. Light, crisp carbonation. Drinkable, but not one of their best efforts. Sweet malt, yeast, a touch of funk, pepper, and spiced bread. It was okay, I didnt enjoy it to much though. It was kind of messy. JPDIPSO (4939), Wauwatosa, Wisconsin, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Sep 23, 2009 Dark amber to copper color. Moderate, foamy ecru head. Fairly yeasty aromas with spices of pepper and cloves. Nose has a touch of dough, toasted malt and cocoa. Flavors have some initial pale malt and then a bit of fruit and spice. Bit of banana and spice have a light dunkelweiss quality. thedm (3836), Fort Wayne, Indiana, USA
| 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Sep 20, 2009 This draft brew from a beer bar poured a medium sized head of foamy finely sized bubbles that were long lasting and left behind a transparent very softly carbonated caramel brown colored body. The mild aroma was mild malt. The mouth feel was weakly tingly at the start and at the finish. The flavor contained notes of malt mild hops semi-sweet and brown malt. An OK brew just nothing special. kmweaver (2501), Sebastopol, California, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 12/20 | Sep 16, 2009 Draft @ Little Waldorf Saloon. Pours a bold, clear, reddish-brown color; thin, light-tan head with fine-bubbled lacing that sticks. Some light funk, citrus, medium acidity, and a pleasant mix of breadiness and sweet esters in the aroma; some white pepper. Medium-to-full mouthfeel: chewy breadiness, good levels of mouthwatering acidity, chewy esters, and residual Belgian sugar sweetness; drinkable (appropriate) levels of carbonation, plenty of dense chewiness, tempered by white pepper and a light tartness. A bit messy, well-spiced, generous saison, but slightly off. Lengthy finish: sweet breadiness, white pepper, and Belgian sugar.
