Jun 17, 2009 On tap at Capone’s. Poured a deeper amberish/copper color with an averaged sized, frothy off white head. Lacing left on the glass. Aromas of spices, bananas, and toasted caramel. Tastes of bananas, fruitiness, spicess, toasty/roasty, and citrus.

Jul 2, 2009 Tap at RNH. Brown beer with a thin white head. The aroma is loaded with clove, banana, and a lot of spicy rye character. Flavour has a decent amount of complexity. Light spicy flavour up front followed by some estery (not banana) fruit. The flavour has a bit of tartness and a light peppery character. Fairly malty with a lingering chewiness. It doesn’t really do it for me... a number of interesting components, but it never reallly comes together.

Sep 23, 2009 Dark amber to copper color. Moderate, foamy ecru head. Fairly yeasty aromas with spices of pepper and cloves. Nose has a touch of dough, toasted malt and cocoa. Flavors have some initial pale malt and then a bit of fruit and spice. Bit of banana and spice have a light dunkelweiss quality.
